I personally purchased this to repair the binding on an "antique" military manual and it worked wonderfully. I do keep duct tape and WD-40 in a water tight container along with flashlight, batteries, first aid kit, NOAA radio and other necessities for hurricane bug out. **Q: Is this MATTE FINISH or Glossy?** A: The finish is more shiny than matte, although I wouldn't call it highly glossy. **Q: Is it easy to remove the tape and does it leave any residue?
