The wrong color in box problem was quickly corrected by Shanling! This is a nicely made, high quality case for a high quality DAP.

The case is genuine leather. It is well made and fits well, does not block the screen or ports. However, while attractive and a little bit protective it does not add as much as a case which allows you to wear or carry it more easily. This is a light protective cover. It may prevent damage if dropped, not too far or on too hard a surface, but I am not going to try it (intentionally).

It's a perfectly serviceable little pleather case, not very thick but okay enough for modest drops. It doesn't protect the corner with the wheel, or the wheel itself, which isn't great.

I really hate the faux leather. I really wish there was one that came in something else like silicone or plastic or anything else. I'm only reviewing for one specific reason related to screen protection. I have the clip case too. I think it looks great but the clip doesn't really work but I still found myself using it because I really liked how it looked and disliked how this looks. Also with the clip case you can easily scroll along the right side of the screen through the letters for artists and with this it's difficult because of the raised edge on the case. I had it rigged with a carbineer with a cord wrapped around it for a bit but ended up putting that on this case and it works great, it's upside down that way but the faux leather is tight enough (at least now) to keep it from falling out. I was using the plastic clip case and it fell off and hit concrete. The glass on the screen got a tiny chip on the edge of the glass (seems fine and doesn't look like it's going to spread). But that's when I really noticed how the screen protector doesn't cover all of the glass. This case covers the part that the screen protector doesn't so it would've protected it from that chip. It doesn't cover the corner it fell on though so that corner would still have been scratched. Given that there aren't any other options I recommend this
