**Q: Where can we buy a new cooking pot for our 8 cup one? It still works fine but the interior non stick is failing.**
A: Same problem, bought new, but the non -stick never worked. Burned rice sticks to the bottom.

**Q: is the cooking pot stainless**
A: It’s more like aluminum with a light coating.  Nothing sticks whether it be veggies or rice.  Cleaning is so easy it’s ridiculous

**Q: can I cook only 1 cup of uncooked rice in this?**
A: Yes I do that all the time - 1 cup with a baking measuring cup. Seems like that's the amount that works best without any liquid boiling over. I think the 4 cups is based off of the different rice measuring cups because I do not think you could possibly fit 8 baking measuring cups of cooked rice in this.

**Q: Is it heavy?**
A: Ladykitty, I gave it as a gift so I cannot honestly answer that, I mean, I did not find the box it came in heavy, but that is not a definitive answer.  I am very sorry.

I've owned a long series of cheap 6-cup (3 cup uncooked) rice cookers, the $15 - $20 generic ones with no smarts that eventually die after 3 or 4 years. My current 6-cup cooker is dying, and I bought this replacement Proctor Silex cooker in the 10-cup size mostly because many of the reviews mentioned that it is smaller than 10 cups, so I figured it would end up really being a 6-cup cooker. Well, the one I got is definitely 10 cups. I compared it to my 6-cup cooker, and it is 4 cups larger. It is a good rice cooker. It has a non-stick coating that really is non-stick and that so far isn't scratching or peeling off. It switches from "cook" to "warm" mode at the correct time, so the rice is fully cooked and still moist and tender. It comes with a steamer basket, which can be handy. But the nicest thing about it is that it is a little big bigger than a typical 6-cup cooker, and that makes it much more versatile. I can still cook all of the rice dishes and "meals in a pot" that I've always made with a smaller cooker, and they come out fine, no changes needed to recipes, just make them like usual and they cook like usual. But dishes that have a tendency to boil over don't do it so badly or messily in this cooker. And if I want to make a LOT of rice for a party dish or for storage, no problem. Also, since it is a bit higher wattage than typical 6-cup cookers, it comes up to boil / steam temperature a little faster. Which makes dishes cook a little faster but not burn. Given that this is a similar price to most 6-cup generic rice cookers, it's a very good deal. Recommended.
