Q: Please can you tell me how these are sized?

The foot part is meant to be used with trainers. You just set your foot in and adjust the straps around the foot and leg. My son is a uk size 5.5 and although the top of the shoe hangs off there is a lot of stability. It is meant to be like this to accommodate both larger and smaller shoe sizes as it varies so much within the weight brackets for each child.
