I ordered this to use while camping to warn us of animal intruders; especially bears. This trip wire device is made entirely of metal. That was a good decision since to setup this device you will need a 12 gauge blank. Luckily, I had some 12 gauge blanks laying around so I set this trip wire up in my backyard to do a test run. Once the blank was inserted and secured I walked through the trip wire to activate it and it instantly set off the blank shell. The noise seemed to be louder than when shot with a shotgun.
