Not Just for Hobbiests, Great Workshop Tool for Electronics, Maker and Exploring
After snapping open a few Bluetooth locator fobs to replace the batteries, I felt that these blades might do a cleaner job by cutting them rather than using the hammer and chisel they way I did the first dozen or so.The blades make quick work of these locator shells, slipping right into the groove of the untouched shell and cutting through the plastic with ease. The two images are the original Tile locators, which contain a 3v coin-size battery that is soldered or welded into place. I will be pulling those out and replacing them with a snap-in battery holder on the outside of the case so I can replace the battery every 18-months or so without opening the split case. I won't be putting that on the outside of anything, but there are plenty of opportunities to slip these into a side pocket of a suitcase, backpack, lunch box, camera case or other items you want to track. As I cut more old locators I get a little better with my technique, but from the first cut, I've found this X-Acto saw the perfect tool for the job! Even as prices on the locators come down, replacing the battery will always be cheaper than replacing an entire unit.

Great set of knives, packaging is lacks attention to detail.
X-ACTO knives have been a favorite of hobbyists for decades. These knives continue that excellence. The packaging has deteriorated significantly. Fit and finish have suffered. Also, replacement blades are stored in the lid, retained by magnets. The weak/cheap magnets do a very poor job of securing the blades.

Ginseu of hobby knife
Arived on time in retail package. The plastic was not fused together so you slide the backing out , love this packaging. It is a beneficial novelty other gurus should implement. The blades have 40 TPI and 42 TPI making them " fine" knife. I use it to make Marquette and inlays with exotic hardwoods. The wood is 1/42" thick without any backing a fine sharp blade cuts without leaving splinters, or chafe. One splinter and the piece is unusable. Smooth cuts on hardwood every time and accurate. The blade only cuts when pulling it and dosnt cut when pushing as designed. The bade has a reinforced spine so the thin blade resists bending and bowing - partly due to the pull cut. So all that is impressive but if you know marquet an 1/8" short cut and its a do over same with inla because it's repetitive the short cut miss cut turns into the grand Cannon. I did call customer service to verify the pull cut but " didn't have needed inuformatiin.". The Internet poodle fetched the answer. The best for last is the handle holds the blade wiggeling free-very important fo precise cutting. The bades chage out quickly. The price could be higher and the customer service needs training, however I will by more as they dull from the same retailer and same brand name .

Very nice little saw, decent price and X-Acto quality.
Really like this little tool.Become really handy around for bunch of projects.Great for detailed work, hobbyist, working with models and miniatures, craft projects etc.Ability to exchange blades is a huge plus. It's very sharp and cuts well, works great so far.Comes with two blades, both blades are same 42 tpi (teeth per inch). One is 3/4" deep and other one is 1" deep(X-acto # X234 and X235).My only two cents - do not buy it with Excel Mitre Box as I did and as was recommended by Amazon. Blades are not deep enough to cut thru unless you going to put something underneath of piece you want to cut. See photos for more details. All in all I really love this little saw.

Not heirlooms
These are not your grandfather's carving knives, Hand forged from Damascus, and polished to perfection. They are also not 800$. They are ok knives that are super cheap. Ready to use. And easy to sharpen. Get yourself some porcelain sharpening rods and true then up every time you use them. You'll get the job done just fine.

Works fine
Good item especially of you're a balsa or wood hobbyist. Does a good job and I like the larger handle. makes it easier to control. this pairs will with the aluminum mitre box.

Sharp But Doesn’t Track Straight
Saw is sharp like a number of similar saws. I also have zona brand saws and they are better built and just as sharp. Will buy some from here on in.ProsSharpThin kerfConsDoesn’t track straight. The saw came with more tooth offset on one side causing it to track. Finally mostly fixed it by honing the side of the blade part way with a fine stone
