More to my DIY experience than anticipated
My experience with the fuel pump assembly started with difficulty wiggling it thru the hole in my 2011 Sportster Iron 883 with the standard fuel tank. In order to get thru the hole, both the top most zip tie’s and the aluminum strap’s ‘pinch points’ needed to be shifted. As provided they aligned perfectly with a tab of metal on the tank that needed to be cleared to get the assembly inserted. (I did ‘gently’ spin them to a position that wasn’t blocked by the tank. Probably blew the lifetime warranty, but did save grinding the tab.)) I would suggest a manufacturing note that these top two straps have there pinch points oriented anywhere but the position they arrived in. Second problem manifested itself on the first ride (after the stay close to the garage test out the ‘work’ done ride) after stopping for gas, the bike wouldn’t start. Had to get it trailered back to the garage which required additional people and resources. After learning everything I should have known about the fuses and relays, we plugged the old pump assembly into the bike and when set to start it went through the pump cycle. Looking at the old pump assembly’s four wire connector, it was obvious that the pins were not seated to a reliable depth. Having already put the lifetime warranty at risk, and wanting to attend a charity ride the next day, an effort was made to seat them. The small gauge wires were fully seated (pushed from behind with a small screwdriver, not having any seating tools). It was difficult because the pins were poorly crimped and the crimp needed to be ‘shifted’ to get the crimp portion of the pin into their seat position. The two (most important?) larger gauge wires could not be fully seated. The pin crimps were also poorly formed and could not fit all the way in. I would really like a new connecter, a new set of pins and access to proper crimping and seating tools. There is enough wire slack to remove the current pins and re-pin them. I do not want to remove the fuel pump assembly (refer to strap/zip issue above). I’m rating a two because of the overall experience with the pump assembly as manufactured. Up to the point I was repairing the product and since it has been repaired it has functioned perfectly. The DIY experience expectation didn’t include the entire experience.

Worked ok while it did
Worked but my bike died on me 3 times now and wouldn’t start. I’ve had to walk my bike back to my house for miles because it’s unreliable fuel pump. Not sure if a plug is messed up or not or what the issue is but I recommend checking the pump and connections very well before putting it in your bike. (It would randomly start working again until it fails time and time again)

Works awesome
I installed this on a 2017 1200 sportster and it works better that the oem assembly at less than half the price for the full assembly.

This item is a P.O.S. DO NOT BUY!
The fuel pump worked for 103 miles, then stopped working completely. Trying to access the Lifetime Warranty is non-existent. Amazon offers NO HELP. Seller offers NO HELP. DO NOT BUY THE QFS JUNK or DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON. PERIOD!

Had trouble with this from the off. Pump would not work. After taking out the plug and putting it back in several times the pump came to life. Took bike for a test run ( not to far from the workshop) bike stopped and would not restart. Pushed back to workshop. Came and looked on here at previous reviews. Lo and behold a review from 2024 mentioned the pins in the plug not being long enough. Looked in the plug and this was the case. The four pins had been put in incorrectly so they did not sit in the grooves in the plug. After about an hour of fiddling and swearing managed to turn and reseat the pins. Plugged it back in to the bike, pump started to prime. Test run all ok so far. Found some other reviewers who had the same problem. Maybe Quantum should look into this. Bike is a Harley- Davidson Sportster 48. 2018.
