Does this product contain alcohol?

Well, I certainly woudn't recommend drinking it !!! It is designed to be sprayed on your HAIR !
Looking at the ingredients list on the back of the bottle, which I think is in French, the first ingredient is : alcohol denat - whIch is preumably "denatured alcohol", whatever that is. I would imagine that the alcohol serves as two main purposes perhaps, not sure which is the main purpose though :
1. Preservative ? ( to make the shelf-life much longer, quite common in such things like dental mouthwashes)
2. Solvent ? (I think a likely reason - the hair sticky agent will not flow/spray onto hair unless it is dissolved in some sort of solvent. Once sprayed onto the hair, the chosen solvent should ideally evaporate quickly, so it doesn't leave the hair wet, which would allow the hair style to collapse, before setting in that collapsed shape. Alcohol would be an ideal solvent as it can evaporate quickly.
If you are not planning on drinking, and/or have a religous reason to avoid alcohol (or are an alcoholic !), I can't imaging the need to avoid this product - as the alcohol will quickly evaporate off the hair, leaving no alcohol left in the hair, or on your body - I should expect.
As per MY original review, I HIGHLY rate this hair product, as a freeze instantly your styled hair. It lasts ALL day, and will withstand a fair bit of rain AND wind !!

can you use this product before using a heat curler?

Not really - its pretty sticky. Its a really firm hold hairspray so would just make a mess of your curler.
