Expedition Foods Chicken Korma with Rice (800kcal) - Freeze Dried Meal

Uninspiring flavour. Got these at half price, £4.99. Now they are £9.99. Even at £4.99 I would hesitate to buy again. So definitely not worth £9.99. Flavour is passable but there is always some un-rehydrated chicken lumps. Transferred dried meal powder to a different suitable bag that goes in a reflective insulated cozy. Used boiling water. Sealed in the cozy for 5 minutes or more. So the lumps of chicken really should have been properly re-hydrated but some were still chewy. Ok to eat when hungry after a long hike but even then I found I had to add raisins, seeds and other flavours to beef it up a bit and add more calories. Not enough on it's own as a post hike meal. So not really worth it even at half price unless you are prepared to use it as a base and add extras.

Good stuff and gave me enough energy to stagger 15 miles through bog and freezing sleet back to my car after a solo camp out.When reading the instructions it states "fill to line". Now, due to operator error induced by my heavily fatigued state I assumed this to be the black line on the outside of the packet. The fill line is in fact inside the packet and I ended up with a bag of curry soup. I found out so you folks don't have to!

Hot, filling, 800kcal, I took 30 days worth of Freezedried food with me, from various brands, this was one of the best.

Got this for my son for DoE. He said it was not great on taste and found that having to be accurate on the water to be added was not easy. Would get the ones that are boil in the bag next time.

My favourite of all the expedition foods range. Good hot food on the hill.Don't eat at home though. Remember "hunger makes good kitchen".
