I've given Swingline THREE opportunities not to disappoint me with this model. Three times, they have FAILED me. The first unit I bought couldn't shoot a staple without mangling it and/or shooting one or more staples at the same time and mangling it/them, along with my project. Staples are Swingline branded and model #s were confirmed by Swingline support. Note: the receiving base, on which you place your project to be fastened, has a metal receiver into which the descending staple ends should be folded across the back of said project. The small recess that should direct the tips of the staple to fold across the back of the project is too wide and too flat to reasonably guide/fold/secure the staples on the backside of project. This was the case for the VERY FIRST unit I received from AMAZON (and two others). Usually, multiple staples would be dispatched with a single press of the lever, jamming the unit and crapping up my project. That first unit was returned and exchanged via AMAZON. The new unit I received was the same. Couldn't do the job, AT ALL. I reached out to SWINGLINE CUSTOMER SUPPORT and they sent me a THIRD unit of the same model. They did not want me to send back the unit in my possession. That THIRD unit WAS NO BETTER THAN the first two. Don't know how AMAZON can post so many favorable reviews under the name of this product.
