Seamlessly turns your wireless lavs into wired xlr mics.
I picked up the VXLR+ to adapt a pretty standard lav mic (3.5mm TRS connection) to my XLR interface for recording some ADR for a film produced locally, that was on a super tight budget. I didn't really know what to expect, as I was using this device rather than a more expensive adapter made by the microphone manufacturer, but boy, was I pleasantly surprised. The lav connected to the NXLR easily, and screwed in just as it should, although it did have a tendency to work its way loose, so keeping it tightened up between talent was necessary, but this was a small price to pay for the amount of money it saved me, not having to buy a wireless pack and receiver station. The adapter then easily connected to my interface via XLR, and once the phantom power was turned on, I had a crisp clear, and unwavering signal from the lav mic without any of the expensive wireless gear. It worked seamlessly, with no ground hum, no his, and no phantom fry... The active circuitry that converts the 48V phantom power down to the ~4V plug-in power is brilliantly designed, and keeps your lav from being cooked... It's actual regulation, not just dropping voltage, so you get a clean signal and your mics are safe. It gave me a full, clean signal with no coloration or RF weirdness. There's no added gain or noticeable impedance mismatch. It's basically invisible, which is what you want. The metal housing makes the dongle feel rugged, and like it's not going to shatter if you drop it. The TRS jack is snug with no wobble, no signal drop-outs even with older lavs that have seen their long days of use. Especially at the price, this is not just for pro-audio people, but if you're using lav mics for interviews or shoots and want better than DSLR preamps, the VXLR+ lets you route your lavs into Zoom devices, MixPres, or full-sized interfaces easily and quickly, and it's light enough to clip on the belt of your talent without stacking adapters like Jenga blocks. Whether you're doing location ADR on a budget, or you run a first-class recording studio, the VXLR+ is an absolute must-have (and at the price, you could probably stand to have 3-4 on hand, just in case)! I highly recommend this little power-house.

Works great for all my trs connections. So much i own 3 of them.
I cannot express how thrilled I am with the Rode VXLR Plus XLR to 3.5mm Transforming Adapter. This little device has completely transformed my audio setup and made my recording process so much smoother. The build quality of this adapter is top-notch. It feels sturdy and durable, which gives me the confidence that it will last for a long time. When I received it, I noticed the absence of any annoying 60-cycle hum or hiss that I experienced with cheaper adapters. What surprised me the most was how transparent the audio quality remained. My microphone sounded just as pristine as when connected directly to the interface. The VXLR Plus provided the necessary voltage conversion for my unpowered mics and I didn't experience any issues with audio levels or distortion. It's an active adapter with internal circuitry that does its job superbly. Even though the price is slightly higher than some alternatives, I can confidently say that it's worth every penny. The peace of mind and reliable performance it offers are unmatched, making it a worthy investment. Overall, the Rode VXLR Plus XLR to 3.5mm Transforming Adapter has exceeded my expectations in every way. It has solved all my connectivity challenges and allowed me to use my favorite microphones with ease. If you want a reliable and high-quality solution for your audio needs, I highly recommend this fantastic adapter. Bravo, Rode!

Plug and play, great sound.
I wanted to use my Rhode VideoMic Pro as a boom mic and an adjustable arm. The arm came with a build in XLR and this worked perfectly to convert my TRS to XLR. The sound quality is excellent, I have not observed any increase in floor noise with using the converter. Rhode makes a cheaper converter that does not support phantom power however for the price it is worth having the extra flexibility for future use. They also have a more expensive converter that also converts to a balanced signal. However this is really only needed if your cables runs are over 20 feet. If your cable runs are below that then you likely would not hear any perceivable difference. If it is over 20 feet, get the Rode VXLR Pro.

Works Great for 'direct-to-camera' mics!
I have a cheap Takstar SCG-598 in addition to my trusty Rode NTG1 with a Zoom H6 Audio Recorder. The Rode connected flawlessly to the H6 of course, because it is an XLR mic. But my Takstar, which is meant to connect directly to a camera audio input, which connect with barely any feedback. I purchased a cheap $10 3.5mm to XLR adapter, but the input volume was the same, very low. Come to find out, the adapter I purchased didn't support Phantom power. So after some research, I stumbled upon this, at $25, it was only $15 more than the cheap adapter I bought, and it specifically supports and converts any Phantom power to a voltage sage for smaller mics. It worked wonderfully -- I can now connect both of my mics to my H6 while keeping the onboard H6 mic available. The build is very sturdy and feels really solid in the hand. I did remove the clip that's on it, since it was getting in the way of connecting with my H6, but otherwise, this adapter works flawlessly as intended. $10 cheap adapter that didn't work versus $25 brand-name adapter that streamlines my process is a no-brainer. Get this product if you're looking for a similar setup!

Works great!
At first I was trying to connect my Plug in Power mic with a passive 3.5mm to XLR adapter to my interface and that didn't work - there was no output. So I did a little bit of research and found this neat little device, and it works great! My only problem with it right now is that the 3.5mm side is a bit loose and quite wobbly, which is a shame because the device feels otherwise sturdy and well made. Not sure if I was just unlucky with the unit I got or if it's a more general QC/design issue. Because of this I'm a bit worried it won't last for long, but anyways, it works for now. Will update this review if any issues arise with it.

BUY NICE OR BUY TWICE. In the audio/visual world whether 'prosumer' or commercial, there are items worth investing in Llast and dont date. This adaptor is one of them. As an Australian, I buy Australian + quality whenever I can and the RØDE VXLRVXLR+ Minijack doesnt disappoint. I was impressed by the solid, weightiness of this item which imparts a feeling of quality and the clip-accessory it ships with is practical and a nice touch. It works great with xlr audio recorders (mine a Zoom H8) where you can lower the power output/gain with lavalier mics which are the most portable and cost-effective option for multi-person podcasting and travel setup. I bought two of these so far and will probably buy another few in early 2021. Great bang for buck. 5-star.
