Worked great
Once you figure out how to use it, it worked great for my rework on a printer pcb. You need your other materials but this gets plenty hot and has a cool down fan feature just keep it plugged in when powering down it will care for itself. Great price for the tool

Hot in a hurry
Bought this to help me replace the joysticks in a Xbox controller. Worked wonderfully. Gets hot very fast.

Not good.
With small nozzle attached, the item overheated the casing within a few minutes of first use causing the casing to melt onto the metal barrel, which also became loose and wobbly from the heat. Didn't notice the issue until the melted plastic began to smoke and drip onto my work station also. Not good.

Not hot enough for HDMI ports
Tried it to desolder an HDMI port from an Xbox series X. Did not get the port enough even at the highest setting, eventually started melting itself, while the HDMI port was still attached. Probably ok for smaller jobs, not for this.

Great for Installing Clarinet Pads
I tried using a small butane torch to install new pads on a clarinet but found it produced so much heat that the clarinet could be easily damaged. I discovered that some musical instrument repair techs use air soldering stations for this purpose instead of a torch. Using this tool I was able to repad a clarinet without causing any damage. I used low temperature hot glue sticks and set the temperature on this hot air tool to 250 Celsius. This item was the least expensive hot air soldering tool I was able to find. The hot air stations sold by the musical instrument supply houses cost many times more. I recommend this tool for occasional DIY repadding of a clarinet.
