Feeling rather good
With a fibre washer, the tap was easily installed by myself to replace the 20+ years old tap in my back garden. It instantly got rid of the leaking of my previous tap, feeling rather good. The reason for 4* sturdiness is that we don't know how long the new tap will last. It could last 5* +.

Easy to fit, useful to have the check-valve integral - and seems good value for money so far.
My old outside tap was leaking from the stem, so rather than the hassle of finding a new seal and then finding it was the tap itself corroded, I decided to just fit a new tap. The old tap had been installed 20+ years ago, and no check-valve had been installed. I was pleased to see that this one had the check-valve integral, but the tap itself is not large. The original tap had been installed with a separate baseplate fixed to the wall - so this tap was a perfect replacement and just crewed into the existing baseplate connection. When I first attached it, when the tap was made up tightly it pointed upwards - and I really wanted it pointing directly down. I added several (many) layers of white ptfe tape but I could only shift the final make-up position by a few degrees.I bought a fibre washer for a few pence and a roll of yellow PTFE tape ( meant for gas and much thicker than the white variety). With those added I got a strong hand-tight make up about 45 degrees before vertical (and downwards), and nipped it up the rest of the way with a short pipe-wrench. It is now snug without being over tightened, no leaks, and the tap points downwards as would be normal.I have a spare fibre washer and the rest of the yellow PTFE tape should I need it in future years.Indoors under the sink is a 90-degree shut-off valve on the pipe to the outside tap, so I will shutoff the water for the winter and open the tap to drain the short pipe and leave it open until spring.I'll post an update on how it has lasted next year. I would recommend this tap to anyone else.

Good Buy
I had a leaky old hosepipe tap. I don't know anything about plumbing but from the picture on this listing, I realised that the tap just screws into the plate on the wall. So I ordered one of these taps, it came very quickly, and with the help of two quite large adjustable spanners and some plumbers PTFE tape that I already had, I unscrewed the old one and screwed the new one in. Turn the water to the hosepipe tap off first, ours has an internal stop tap for the hosepipe tap under the sink, so it can be turned off during frosts and the hosepipe tap left turned on so that when ice forms, it doesn't damage the inside of the hosepipe tap..I didn't know if to get one with the double check valve but it is good that I did as when I removed the old one,I found that it had the check valve too. This tap seems to work well. Looks good quality.

Why 4 star?
Needed to replace my old one as it froze in the sudden cold spell. This is an exact replacement and has a double check valve to prevent water re-entering the mains pipe from the outside hosepipe.Solid construction and value for money; the only issue is that if you use a washer to seal the connection [PTFE tape on its own doesn't work on my old plumbing - it needs the washer], it ends up at an angle rather than pointing directly down, otherwise its fine.

Seems quite nice
At £6it seems ok value.Does not drip/flow from the wrong places, unlike my 30 year old tap. I used to have to open the old tap all the way to stop water coming out at the handle. No such issues now. Had to try three times to get the right amount of PTFE tape on the threads so the tap would be vertical, and not drip at the thread. Saved me from having to make new holes in the wall, and find a fitting that worked with my old feeder hose,Only drawback is that it’s very hard to feel when the tap actually closes -bit stiff regardless of position. So we had to learn where the correct position is so we won’t ruin the internal rubber washer (only an issue since we have a hose with a spray gun on the tap).

Excellent tap
Bought to replace an old leaky outside tap, this one was a straight swop. It has a check valve built in (a requirement for outside taps) and fitted without any issues (use PTFE tape to seal thread).Very good value for money and more than adequate for my needs.

Recommended!
This tap does the job perfectly, and with the built in double check valve you don’t have to fit a non-return valve as well. Something less to worry about! This tap is super sturdy and built to quality standards. No leaks or drips! 👍

Turned my world upside down
So easy to fit but no matter what I’ve done, the tap connection will only tighten up when the tap is upside down. So it doesn’t drip but just doesn’t look right and is very awkward to use
