Heavy Duty with Adjustment Backrest Tilt Replacement Office Chair Swivel Tilt Control Seat Mechanism Gas Type (6×8 Hole)

I replaced the base of my chair because the previous one had broken after two years, but the rest of the chair was perfectly fine. After a couple of months with this new one, I noticed that it was reclining too much and when I flipped it over and saw the entire mechanism was warped and squashed and broken. The unit that came with the chair broke along the welds on the other side of the mechanism, this one just simply crushed itself after 3 months of semi-regular use.

On day 1, it works great. It feels sturdier than the last drop-in mechanism I tried and it's arguably better than both that and my original mechanism. The recline lock has given me no issues so far and gives me a lot more freedom, as my last mechanism only locked in the upright position and the original mechanism supported 3 fixed positions. If the mechanism lasts, it'll be worth the money. If it doesn't, this review will be updated.

So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase. I replaced the Swivel/tilt mechanism on my "Emerge" gaming chair that I use in my home office. The original swivel became very worn and began to sound like a rock crusher, which was very distracting to my family, since I have an office on the second floor, and the crunching sound would reverberate through the floor and around the house, and this swivel made it completely silent! Advertised hole pattern is 6" x 8" and it fit my 6" x 7 3/4" bolt pattern perfectly. Thanks!

Its a solid product. The tilt and lock feature slides back to the original position when the chair tilts up though. Would've given it a 5 stars except for the two issues. - Tilt&lock resets when sitting up. Only stays locked when leaning back into the locked position. - 2 screw holes are too small to fit or make additional adjustments. It has 6 slots for screws, I was able to test and adjust 4 but the other two appeared to be unusable as they were too small.

9/23/2024: Easy to install and fit my chair perfectly; dimensions were right on. I bought this to replace a tilt mechanism that locked only in the straight up position but wanted one that would lock in a couple of recline position. It wasn't clear from the description if this would do that, but it actually locks in whatever recline position you want within the recline range. Not sure how long it'll last but I'll provide an update if I run into any issues.
