They are metal & have a nice weight to them . Also easy to clean i just rince them under a tap . Also there are numerous different size holes for the perfect fit for incense sticks has different manufacturers do different thicknesses of incense sticks so you will always have the perfect fit . I find sometimes that the ash don't always fall in the ash catcher but not a big deal has to remedy this i put the incense holder on a plate . I would definitely buy these again .
