“A moving testament to the desperation of unrequited love ....”
Based on the true story of Thompson and Bywaters, through the skilful incorporation of press cuttings, letters and real as well as imagined dialogue between the two lovers. This will resonate long after you have finished reading the book. Bravo, Dawson, for bringing Edie back to life through this wonderfully poignant portrait of a young woman trapped in a loveless marriage, trying to escape the humdrum monotony of her life with the most tragic consequences ....

A disturbing story
Innocent or guilty? I can’t decide about Edie Thompson. No doubt about Freddie though. What a sad story. Highly recommended.

A pin to see the peepshow
I saw the tv series based on this story a long time ago and have been fascinated by it ever since. Although I knew the outcome I still couldnt put it down. I cant make up my mind If it was the correct outcome and would be delighted if the author would write an account of Fred's side. A very good book.
