I have sensible teeth. Can I do that?

The majority of users will not experience sensitivity from 3D White Whitestrips. The whitening ingredient peroxide - the same enamel safe whitening ingredient dentists use for tooth whitening - is at a level that's in line with regulations. However, some users may be more prone to sensitivity than others and, as with any teeth whitening product containing peroxide, sensitivity or soreness may temporarily develop when using 3D White Whitestrips. This isn't harmful. As well, it's temporary and will subside, and there are steps you can take to reduce/eliminate this sensitivity. It's okay to use 3D White Whitestrips over a longer period of time by waiting a day between applications, or alternating between using an upper and lower strip.  Doing so will cause whitening to take longer, but will not cause a change in the overall whitening effect. Also, make sure not to brush your teeth too hard, or more than twice a day during treatment, and consider a softer toothbrush in place of a medium or hard bristled brush. Do you need to use daily for 20 days for them to work?

My kit had 22 in it and it did, indeed, take 22 days. You can skip a day if needed and go right back to where you were and it does not make a difference. The whitening is a gradual thing, but I can tell you after a week to ten days, there is a big difference. I am 68 years old and have never had my teeth whitened. I did not realize they were as yellow as they were. When I asked my dentist and he DID recommend them, and said they were excellent without being bad for my teeth or gums, and told me to use them everyday for the full 22 days with no side effects. That was the case, no sensitivity or anything, just pretty white teeth. I can now pass the "tissue test". Now I only need to use them about every 5-6 months for 3-4 days in a row to keep my pretty sparkly teeth looking good. Good luck, it really is not too bad once you get the routine going.

How long does the whitening last?

If you do a couple sets over a couple of years - It will last YEARS. It will last years IF you don't drink a bunch of coffee and black tea or wine all of the time. I think I used my last set in college - about 10 years ago and I've had white teeth probably for about 8 year. I've just started noticing they're becoming more yellow as I drank a bunch of coffee the last couple of years because of long hours at work. Prior to this I still drank coffee and drank wine regularly - I think the only differences are that I used to rinse my mouth out or use my sonicare right away after drinking that stuff and now I don't...and age.

Question 4

My teeth are less than straight. Could I expect uneven whitening since they are not "flat" uniformly in the front?

I have a couple of crooked teeth ad no problem. Per another respondent, my dentist recommended using Sensodyne or similar toothpaste prior to using these as I have slight tooth sensitivity already. I saw that one person said not to brush first...not sure why but I use a clean finger and just rub the regular Sensodyne on my teeth prior to application and have had no problems. I did with another product which is why I asked my dentist and he suggested using the Sensodyne. He also recommended the Crest white strip products without trying to sell me on professional whitening. I have only tried the 30 minute strips and they are great.
