Any Recommendations of what wax to protect them with

To clean and protect my Berghaus boots I purchased Nikwax Footwear Cleaning Gel, and Nikwax Waterproofing Wax For Leather, both from Tresspass. Both seem good products and do the job, so I’m happy.

Do i need to get a bigger size to compensate for thicker walking socks?

I usually go with 8.5 UK. With those I couldn't even put them on. Went with 9 UK and they were fine.

I fancy a pair of these boots; but from the reviews, I can't work out if they are very good or very bad. Any views to help? Thanks.

Are these suitable for rugged terrain and sharp peaks, ie; Crib Goch?

I wouid say so. I live in a rural hilly area and walk every day. The terrain is mixed and rugged at times. The hills are very steep. They've also been resilient in deep mud, water and snow this winter. I've had mine about 5 months and can't fault them. I hope this helps you
