Great - Starts to expose the reality and uncovers the 'spin'
Finally, someone has dared to explore the 'spin', alternative reality and blatant lies that the public has been subjected to for years. Much was already known, but there are some revelations. The fact that this book pulls together the proven incidents, presenting them in one place, helps to expose the nature of the subject and the extent of the mis/disinformation and gaslighting that the public has been subjected to. Mr Bower admits that he was not able to include a lot more - simply because he only wanted to include things that could be proven and would 'stand-up' if challenged in court. There now appears to be some backtracking from contributors, but given Mr Bowers experience, his knowledge of the 'dirty tricks' that can be perpetrated by subjects and their obsessed followers, potential vexatious litigants and his experience in the legal profession, I am sure that he has his files of evidence, has recorded all interviews and has only included robust information. Hopefully other 'truths' will start to emerge now.

Revenge is sweet
“Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.”Wise words that, the Harry, formerly known as Prince, and Meghan Markle, should have listened to. Whilst the sub-title of this biography is: "Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors", much of the focus is on the life of Meghan Markle. 'Revenge' outlines her life from childhood through college, her acting career and later her first and second marriages. Harry joins the narrative when he meets Meghan, and from there, we discover the impact of his meeting her on his relationships with friends and family. This biography is not authorised and, as such, does not contain swathes of new unheard information. This book is no 'Diana, Her True Story. Rather, what 'Revenge' does is piece together available information, with some snippets of new information, into a cohesive narrative and timeline, which enables the reader to 'join the dots and gain a good perspective on Harry and Meghan. There was information in the book I had not heard before. I didn't know that Meghan once got a paid trip to Malta to research her Maltese heritage, even though she doesn't have any. I didn't know there was considerable controversy over publishing an edition of Vogue magazine that left royal aides in tears. The book steers clear of some of the more outlandish internet rumours about Meghan and Harry. I still don't know what her mum was doing all those years she was away. I don't know how Vanity Fair got confused about the timing of when Harry met Meghan in their print edition, which was later corrected online. Some readers have commented on the line, 'Harry's daughter was born at Santa Barbara's Cottage Hospital on 4th June. " I also don't know any more about that. I suspect there were topics the author couldn't touch even if he wanted to, so I will grant the benefit of the doubt on that score, albeit it is a shame because I would love to know if some of these rumours are true.If it isn't already clear, I am no fan of 'the Markles', as I will collectively term Harry and Meghan. I was once. I had thought she was a refreshing change, and it wouldn't be better if these two were King and Queen next. You can imagine how embarrassed I feel about that now! I am no monarchist, but in a fight between the Windsors and the Markles, I would be team Windsor these days.So in that context, I enjoyed 'Revenge'. It was pleasant to have the light shone on what appeared to be two thoroughly unpleasant individuals. I don't think Meghan made Harry what he is; he always was that; it was just hidden, and together they form a folie a deux.Revenge is a well-written page-turner. It is clear and easy to follow. There are enjoyable moments of snarkiness from the author when he comments on individuals he doesn't like, such as rival royal 'biographer' Omid Scobie.I do wonder about some of the fact-checking for 'Revenge'. For instance (and unless I am entirely misunderstanding), it is suggested that Meghan wore a 56,000 pound dress to her engagement photo-call with the press. I believe she wore a green dress, white coat and dirty heels, and the 56,000 pound dress was for the official engagement photoshoot, which wasn't open to the press. Further, it is suggested that officials told a woman not to photograph Meghan at Wimbledon. Maybe a woman was stopped, but all across the internet, you can find details of a man stopped from taking a selfie because people thought he was taking a picture of Meghan. But these are minor points, and I will forgive the author.Overall I would recommend Revenge for anyone who enjoys some royal gossip.

A Good Read
I must be honest, it did take me a while to get into this book, but I am glad I persevered. I surprise myself by feeling a little bit sorry for Prince Harry. His mother dying when he was so young has deeply affected him. It seems he has put her on a pedestal and is oblivious to the fact that she was human, as we all are, and had her faults as we all do. I wonder what would have happened if she had lived, we will never know. Having said that though, I do not have a lot of patience with him. He is now supposed to be an adult, mid 30s, I believe and it is time he stopped being so sorry for himself and concentrated on his lovely young family. Regarding Megan, I think she is just out for herself and what she can get. I just hope that if, or probably when, she dumps Harry, his family will rally round him, but it is almost impossible at the moment to see this happening. A good read and I am glad I read it.

Presenting an alternative, fact checked reality.
A thorough, informative and well researched book which really lifts the lid on facets the of the couple's relationship . The author uses first hand interviews, articles and records. The book begins with Megan's family history, childhood and on to her adult life. Bower details the increasingly manipulative woman that Megan becomes as she uses (and then discards when their purpose has been served) carefully chosen victims along the way.So far seems the most comprehensive analysis of the good, the bad and the downright ugly inner workings of the LA "power couple". Their callous timing, inability to show compassion and generally vile tactics are described in detail.Their actions ensured mega-fame, fortune and influence but the people they used and discarded along the way are now coming back to haunt them.In addition Megan's increasing tendency to politicise race, culture and relationship is under scrutiny. The queen aptly commented that "recollections may vary".
