Bosch S5013 - car battery - 100A/h - 830A - lead-acid technology - for vehicles without Start/Stop system

I've run Boscvh batteries for years (with Exide, Varta and Yuasa in there too); but always return to Bosch, more so when a) it's very well priced and b) delivery was super-fast. Fitted this to my 2002 E39; takes all of 5mins and does the job it needs to do (and replaces the cheap naff Lion battery that was in there beforehand)!

My last battery, a Bosch S4 013 (Blue Top) was at least 7 years old. It first began showing signs of degradation about a year ago, if I left my parking lights on for a few hours, or was using the car phone kit with the ignition on for a long call I would get the dash display saying battery voltage low, start engine immediately. Of course it started every time. ECP, my usual supplier’s cost trade was over £240.00 + VAT! So I left it as long as necessary. Naturally one would like to get the absolute most life from such an expensive item. When it finally came to the first -3’C frost one morning about two weeks ago, it didn’t want to wake up, so that was my final Red Card! I decided to see if I could get one via Amazon, and to my total surprise I not only found a supplier, but was able to buy the S4 019 Silver Series, which offers more CCA and Amp Hrs for about £125.00! I jumped at the opportunity, despite having to wait about four days for Prime delivery. Bonus time, it arrived in two days. (In the meantime I’d been using a fully charged used S4 013) I’d replaced for a customer two years before. It got me through with no problems, as I refrained from putting too many demands on it. Now the engine cranks up at a mega healthy speed, with no voltage drop and all the dash display lights (fingers crossed) have extinguished and I’m back to being relaxed while either driving or leaving the car for several days without use. Very happy, not only with the excellent price, but the peace of mind and superb delivery timeframe.

High spec battery, a good price compared with other dealers and this is the second one I have orded from this dealer. Arrived earlier than date stated and very happy with the quick delivery and service from this supplier.

The battery arrived promptly, as is so typical with the great service from Amazon. It was bought to replace a faulty battery on my Jaguar 3.0 litre Diesel. The original was just 7 months old and of inferior quality, and gave nothing but trouble. It would lose 2 volts over night every night and had me chasing a non-existent drain. But as soon as I fitted the Bosch battery, all my troubles disappeared in an instant, which goes to prove the old adage, you get what you pay for. My Jag has a lot of compression and takes some turning over. The Bosch battery is well up to the job and has transformed it. Systems and accessories that were failing one-by-one and being shut down by the car's computer to save the battery, now work with no problems at all. I thoroughly recommend the Bosch S5013 and I am grateful that Bosch make such quality products.

Battery turned up after quite a while, which was disappointing, but probably down to Royal Mail rather than the supplier. When it arrived I connected it up to a battery charger only to find that according to the charger it was considerably drained. After checking online I queried this with the supplier, who suggested attaching jump leads to the battery, then touching the other ends together, if a little spark was produced then he suggested that the battery was good. I'm pretty sure that this is not a normal testing procedure for car batteries, so I didn't do it and assumed that the seller knew as much as I did about how to test. The seller was happy to replace the item if I ended up being unhappy with it, on that basis I'm satisfied, but I would suggest better product knowledge before giving similar advice to customers. I put the battery on charge for 12hrs and it was well charged by the end of the process and appears to be holding charge well.

Très satisfait de cette batterie Bosch S5 013. Elle offre une excellente puissance au démarrage grâce à ses 100 Ah et 830 A, même par temps froid. Elle convient parfaitement aux véhicules gourmands en énergie (équipements électriques, audio, etc.). L’installation s’est faite sans problème, les dimensions correspondent exactement et la qualité de fabrication est au rendez-vous. Depuis le remplacement, le démarrage est franc et stable, sans aucune faiblesse. On retrouve la fiabilité Bosch : une batterie performante, durable et rassurante. Très bon choix pour un véhicule sans système Start/Stop. Je recommande sans hésiter.
