First impression: this is well made lovely kettle. After trying unsuccessfully a few other kettle brands and types, I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the water boils and how easy is to use. Then I was puzzled why the water is boiling inside when the display shows 60C ?I selected 80C, pressed start and the temperature very quickly reached 60C and the water started boiling, then stopped while the temperature was going up, then started boiling again at 74C and stoped at 80C with a beeping sound. We all know that the boiling point of the water is 100C …. Anyway, I decided to ignore all this, the taste of the water was good ( I poured in a filtered water ) but after only boiling water twice, I noticed that the colour of the bottom inside the kettle changed it’s colour. Yes, there is a stamp the inside wall confirming ‘stainless steel’ but I never seen stainless steel to change colour, or perhaps some types do, I don’t want to guess. Although I truly liked this kettle , I have to return it for these reasons only. In my opinion this is the best reasonably priced, well made kettle but discolouring of the bottom let the kettle down.AMENDED REVIEW 29MayI have been contacted by the company and I was very impressed of the prompt and professional way they dealt with the issue of my original purchase. They sent me another kettle shipped directly from their warehouse in Germany. The kettle arrived quickly and I am delighted with the result.I have to admit, this is a great kettle ! I boiled water using different settings of temperature and the result was excellent. For example to boil 500ml ( which I usually need for my coffee in the morning) it takes approx one minute and it is only one pence according to my smart meter home display.I recommend this kettle as it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, it has stainless steel interior, nice elegant design, temperature selection , fast boiling and money saving what exactly a great kettle should do.I changed also the start rating to five stars.

Love this set (toaster & kettle), very stylish, if not a bit fidly to fathom out how to get to boil initially. Only downside is the pouring of the kettle is really disappointing, quite dribbly and messy.

I bough the kettle and toaster - may be I have OCD - but there is no way I could have a kettle and toaster on the countertop that don't match !The kettle is excellent - stainless steel inside, so nasty taste of plastic (remember if you can taste the plastic it means the plastic molecules are in the water you are drinking!).The temperature display is way more useful than I thought it would be - shows the temperature of the water when you fill the kettle, can see it rising as it heats up - so you can judge how long you have until its ready, but if like me you are doing several things at once - boil the kettle for tea - don't use it immediately I always used to flick it back on to re-boil ... with the temperature display just a quick glance lets you know if that is necessary ... if the water is at 97 really don't need to waste energy on re-boiling for 3 degrees.Toaster was bought to match - simple clean controls. I love that you can set the level you want things toasted to, and you get a countdown timer to completion, so you can be ready for whatever you are toasting to pop up. Even toasting. Perfect appliance.Written my review for both products together for simplicity.Highly recommend both the kettle and toaster. Well made, sleek crisp design, with useful features like the temperature and timer countdown on the toaster.

the only good thing is that it is stainless and BPA-free. Steam escapes from the sides of the top cover I,can live with this but when lid start broke becouse lid is made of thin plastic, plastic lid broke inside that is not for use.

Ours has a slightly shinier exterior that the pic, but I quite like it and I’m otherwise very happy with this kettle.It’s good value and looks great in the kitchen.- Exterior never gets more than hand hot- Keep warm function- Temperature selection if you want to, else:- Easy quick start just boil (!)- Option to turn off the finish beep if you don’t like it (it’s not that loud but some people might not)- No plastic mesh filter, just steel holes- Smooth easy clean/descale interior - no elements on show

The media could not be loaded.  I had a Vektra kettle before this and loved it until it died.I like the clean lines and shape of this kettle. The lid is quite flimsy and doesn’t seal the top of kettle, so when it boils steam comes out around the lid not just the spout. It also seems to take a while to switch off when boiling. A lot of money for a low quality item. This will be returned and I will buy another Vektra instead

Best thing about this kettle is that it has no internal plastic components, not like other kettles I’ve had in the past which make the water taste foul because they react with the chlorine in the water. It beeps to let you know when it’s done but you can turn that off if you find it annoying. Looks sleek love the shape got a bit of a retro feel to it. Worth the price.

The kettle is well insulated and retains heat for quite a while. It reaches the set temperature reasonablyquickly, and does not waste power over-shooting the chosen boil point by exuberantly blasting the contents un-necessarily. The temp choices are a bit limited, but perfectly OK. The annoying. beeps can be suppressed, except for when it is placed/replaced on the base. Am v pleased. However after a few months the lid broke. It's a double skin that has 4 flimsy plastic clips holding the inner and outer skins together that break if someone prises up the lid. I replaced the broken clips with 4 tiny self tap screws. Definitely a DESIGN WEAKNESS
