what's the purpose of the screws? there are no nut on the pedals after original rubber is removed right?

The screws basically secure them in place as well as the rubber backing friction. The Tesla pedals are just metal slabs with no nuts. I like these alot more than the popular other one on Amazon. The other one cut the crap out of my hands. These are easier to get on and have a different look which I vibe.

do the screws loosen and these feel loose after while?

I have not been using them long but they feel solid. It a snug fit, so think they will not loosen even if the screws fall out, which I don’t think they will

difficult to get the stock rubber pads off? These look like they will be easy to get on. I just didn't want to be stuck if I can't get the new ones on

The trick is to first spray windex all over the metal brake pad and the rubber accelerator pad. Then try sliding them in. Wayyyyy easier.

Does this work on the 2023 Model 3?

It should as Model 3 and Y accessories are compatible.
