First things first, I like Mr Kelby (I'm way too English to call him Scott without having met him) and his writing style, so I saw the blatant plug he made on FB and followed the link. Available on Kindle you say? Why thank you, I grabbed the free preview and previewed. Oddly, the foreword suggests shoplifting the book, I tried this digitally and electrocuted myself. twice. So I then purchased it, a much better decision, the book is as expected - straightforward and highly delvable. it has a high dipinability factor which makes it easy to find the information you want quickly and simply. Honestly, the preview managed to fix a niggle I had - it's that concise and usable. If you prefer your books filled with starch and endless detail that would bore a boring person, move along. Otherwise, worth every penny (other currencies are available)

To me, this book seemed overpriced and too simplistic so that I'd decided to return it the next day. However, after using it a couple of times and then going through it objectively, it changed my mind. The size is handy to keep by you as you work, it's not heavy or cumbersome and doesn't take up desk space and definitely saves time as well as teaching you as you go.I'd recommend this for the reasons above, plus it's size makes it a "take anywhere" read.

Very helpful. Gives clear answers to the right questions in a sensible order. I have lots of photos on my computer already and am migrating from Picasa, so I need to study Lightroom carefully to decide how to organise my photos for both the future and the past. Concentrating on that aspect first. Currently having to continue with Picasa for editing and exporting, till my organising plan is set up. I feel confident Lightroom will be good in general and that this book will be a great help in getting to know it.

I have yet to fully explore this book and absorb everything it has on offer, but as a complete newbie to Lightroom, I am finding it easy to read and accept the concepts that he is putting forward.I do a bit of photography here and there but have banked on free options to date (such as GIMP), but now that I have purchased Lightroom and moved into the foray of amateur enthusiast (*wink*) I feel it optimal to learn the ins and outs of this software from a novice perspective.This book is so far perfect for that!

Useful but a bit less to it than meets they eye

Very good but, more often, I find myself using his bigger and more detailed book 'Lightroom CC for Digital Photographers' which is excellent for beginner and expert alike.

This is brilliant. No other way to discribe it. I also have his book on "How do I do that in Photoshop" It is as though Kelby is sitting with you.Very intuative and a joy to read but only as a reference where you can dip in and out depending on what you need.Thoroughly recommend both books if you have the Adobe Ceative Cloud programme.

Clear, concise, well written and produces results. A must for any Lightroom beginner!

My photography how-to book library has many Scott Kelby books for a reason.If you want clear direction and answers, buy this book.If you want theory or drawn out technical information, choose a different author and load up on coffee to stay awake while reading their book.
