Works as expected
The pencil is softer than 2B. You can sharpen with a regular pencil sharpener. The image shows the underglaze on porcelain and I added a transparent glaze on top.

If you like the loose sketch look, these work well!
I love the kind of messy / sketch quality these offer for pottery. That being said, I was expecting more color pay-off and would not recommend if you are looking for dense smooth color. I found the best way to use this pencil is on bisque-ware and get the tip of the pencil slightly wet. This helps the color go on a bit smoother. When sharpening the pencil the colored part often breaks off and falls out. Could be my sharpener, but it doesn’t happen with any other pencils.Because of the ‘led’ breaking so often, I would not purchase these again.

One pencil constantly breaks
One pencil sharpens fine. The other could never be sharpened, it constantly broke and seems loose in the wood. So basically paid for one pencil. Glaze pencils are expensive! Not buying the brand again.

Colored pencil for the kiln
These are great pencils. They have a nice cool blue color. They have the same feel and consistency of a colored pencil. And like a colored pencil the smoother the project the better the results. They are easy to use and write nicely. Caution if you never used these before, they smudge easy. The results are same going in and coming out of the kiln.I tried these as underglaze, with clear over.Putting as over glaze came out a little darker but scratched off.Sharpening use a file or sand paper not a sharpener.

: ( cracking : (
Just opened and sharpened both (why not already sharp??) with a new manual twist sharpener. Both broke the "lead" before the point was remotely sharp, 3x fir one and twice for the other. How they actually work, I don't know yet and will update. But I'm already cranky.30 minutes later, update: THESE ARE HORRIBLE. THE "LEAD" CRACKS CONSTANTLY.RUN AWAY. RUN FAST TO THE LIQUID UNDERGLAZE & BRUSHES.
