Hi! i just installed this kit but when i press the lock button the doors will lock and immediately unlock. unlock works fine. any ideas what is wrong?

There should be two wires left that are not used. If you connected all of the wires that may be your problem. I can’t remember the color of the wires that should not be connected but the instructions should tell you. The two extra wires are there for a switch to add inside the vehicle That works separately from the key fob. Hope this helps that is all I can think of. I installed mine with a switch I bought separately from the kit and they work great with the switch or the key fob.

Would this work on a full manual 1991 ford ranger?

I want to say yes. It definitely has worked on a 1993 Isuzu NPR.
