Q: how long can one expect one of these to last if indoors? Thanks

My first Pumptec-plus lasted 11 years. It was installed adjacent to my water well in a 4 foot diameter by 4 foot deep metal meter-well with steel cover. It was not exposed to weather elements. Second has be working as expect for two years.

Q: Black to #1 white #2 ----Black #1 Red #2--won't light up

Correct! It will not light up. There are three ways to wire this. If it does not light up, then you have it wire to cycle when the power is activated. When activated it should spin between the three lights till set and the lights go blank. When the pump is drawing to many amps, you should see the warning light come (yellow) (red will shut it down) and it should set the timers to two hours cycle before trying again.
