Q: Has anyone been successful in using this to solve a flaking paint problem on a plastered bathroom ceiling?

i didn't use it on a bathroom ceiling but on my boys bedroom wall that had flaking problems three times before. It has been on about 8 months and so far so good.

I have used this product only on peeling paint on wood - which worked well. But metal plus rust may well require a specialised product - they do exist. try a very good hardware shop for advice and / or the internet. Hammerite do paints for metals - and primers, which you may need. Do you know why rust is coming through though - maybe you should start there? EG are the radiators corroded inside? There will be a solution - but on the way, there's nothing lost trying Zinsser - they have several products, not just this one.

Q: Our door frame paint has cracked at the edges when the door has been slammed - would this help to stop further cracks/bind old cracks to paint over?

Have used it on 3 places and its been good did what it say on the tin try it then don't slam the door
