I never normally review but this warrants a review. Bought for my 5 year old daughter who loved it. Points to note yes the instuctions are a bit odd and the bits are a bit difficult to fit but still my husband managed it! Don't fill it with sand fill it with water which we did from the tap and it's worked brilliantly and is plenty stable enough even for my husbands enthusiastic shots! Although it says fits size 5 ball the ring does but the net it comes with does not so we have had to but another but they are only a couple of quid from ebay. Overall she loves it and so do I for the price it's superb!

Great product - shame they didn't include another string 'basket' - as the original is sure to get lost or broken soon. How much does a piece of string cost after all?The real issue with this product is the base and the hole in which you are required to transfer the sand to make it stable. It's about the size of my finger! Why not make it bigger? I spent almost two hours transferring a bag of wet sand into the base so it wouldn't topple over and injure one of my kids. OK, dry sand would make this an easier job, but how often have you bought a bag of dry sand from a builders' merchants.I tried a funnel, I tried pouring it in very S L O W L Y, but in the end I had to sit there for hours carefully pushing the wet sand into the tiny little hole with my fingers so it wouldn't get stuck and block the hole. This is just another example of a re-seller/manufacturer never actually using their own product. Double the size of the hole - treble it even, then this job might take a few minutes as opposed to a couple of HOURS!If you've got a couple of hours to spend transferring a few grains of sand at a time into a huge plastic base then go ahead and buy this product. Even better, make you kids do it!

Do not buy waste of money broken within 6 months company wouldn’t help replace any parts

Although this was advertised for children 5-8 I bought this product for my 3 year old. It is ideal because it is adjustable and is wasn't too high for him. The unit was very easy to build and came with the tools needed. My husband (who hates DIY) had it built in 5 minutes. Great buy.

This basketball hoop is great for the age range of my children,with the opion to higher the post as they get older. Without needed to purchase a full size one for a number of years. My girls are aged 6 and 9.

When I read the review saying it had taken J Wells 2 hours to fill the base with sand, I though "Halfwit, why didn't he use some initiative". Then I tried filling my grandson's birthday present with sand and I thought "What an astute chap Mr Wells is!" I formed a funnel, I used a sawn off drinks bottle, but had to resort to the wriggling finger technique. Now its full its a great product, but why oh why didn't they make the hole bigger!

The product is ok. The boys like it however in order for a normal sized basketball to get through the hoop you cannot put the net on.
