SKS Airchecker Air Pressure Gauge with Dual Head

Really good pressure gauge from SKS I trust this for my race bikes and car. Easy to use and nice ergonomic design. No air leak and easy to reduce pressure if needed. Multiple measurement types. So far very durable as expected from SKS. Tested against other gauges and proven to be consistent.

I wanted this to get more accurate pressures for my gravel and MTB: my old track pump gauge goes up to 160 psi so was difficult to fine-tune pressures below 30 psi. The Airchecker had great reviews so I ordered it. But when it arrived it showed much, much lower pressures than the track pump that I e been using for 15 years: on my gravel bike it read 25.4 psi but track pump read ~35. Then on my road tyres it read only 42.5 psi, despite 80 psi on the track pump! I was worried: was my track pump actually overestimating pressures by 40-90%?? Or was the Airchecker actually rubbish? One other review said it can be inaccurate on first use and suggested to remove and then reinsert the battery. I did this: still no agreement between this and my pump. I then went to my local bike shop to test it against their pump (Zefal pump in the attached photos). This showed very close agreement with the 25.4 psi measured by the Airchecker (and I also validated it for several higher pressures). I’ve since bought a TopPeak Jow Blow pump that also agrees with the Airchecker. So, the good news is that the Airchecker is accurate. It’s really good at fine-tuning pressures for off-road riding. And small enough to take with you on rides (in case you want to test the real-world effects of different pressures). The bad news is that I’ve been running tyres at 50-60% of intended pressure for who knows how long 😱! Maybe the silver lining is I’ll be much faster now? Lesson learned: don’t always trust your track pump. I wish I bought one of these a few years ago…

Works well. Easy and accurate

The most popular Presta pressure gauge is almost certainly the Topeak Smart Digital D2 gauge. This SKS gauge is easily as good or better than the Topeak one. It is nice in the hand (more slender and grippy rubber edges), backlit display and the buttons are more simple and easier to use in my opinion. I currently own a Topeak Smart Digital D2 & this SKS Airchecker, so I can do a direct comparison. The Topeak is certainly very good, but I feel the SKS just edges ahead for me. I "slightly" prefer the SKS!

Small lightweight.easy to use..I needed it because I'm running tannus armour on my tyres and you need to make sure your tyre pressure is correct as it can be quite hard to tell with these in..and low pressure causes flats..so easy to use no fiddly faddlyin about super happy

Does what it says on the tin (box). It's very quick to register the pressure. Clear and easy to read. Switching between Bar and Psi is easy but hold the button too long or press too often and it gets confused. Only super minor gripe is it doesn't do Kpa, which I knew when I bought it, but then I see 'Kpa' flash up when I turn it on... Surely they could've included Kpa (I like Kpa for the cars, Psi for my bikes).

Best digital pressure gauge I’ve purchased!

Eindelijk een drukmeter die zijn werk perfect doet. Makkelijk te bedienen. Kan twee verschillende ventielen bedienen.

Bin begeistert, genau das, was ich gesucht hatte. Passt auf SV Presta (Sclaverand) und AV Schrader (Autoventil). Kopf drehbar. Kleiner Knopf am Kopf integriert um Druck abzulassen. Zeigt den Wert in bar oder PSI an, bis zur zweiten Nachkommastelle. Sehr wiederholgenau. Zeigt beim Auto die gleichen Werte an wie das Bordsystem. Funktioniert auch am Fahrrad tip top. Gewohnt gute SKS Qualität. Man drückt das Gerät auf das Ventil, nach ca 1-2 Sekunden ertönt ein deutlicher Piepton und der Druck ist im Display erfasst. Display gut ablesbar mit permanenter Hintergrundbeleuchtung in orange. Wert wird in der Anzeige gehalten. Gerät schaltet dann automatisch nach kurzer Zeit ab. Alles sehr intuitiv, genau so wie man es sich wünscht.

When the valve fits its great. However, there are too many problems with certain valves (I only use presta-style valves - and yes I read the manual carefully and looked at videos on how to use correctly which is a must to avoid certain mistakes). Manual could be a lot better and the one on their home page is outdated (seriously?). Long live youtube!

Działa bardzo dobrze z zaworem presta. Mam stacjonarna pompkę SKS i nie sądziłem, że przy szybkim odpinaniu pompki potrafi zejść 0.2 BAR. Bardzo przydatne jeżeli jeździsz na szosie. Ja pompuje i sprawdzam przed każdą jazdą.
