Cheaper than hiring a plumber
My kitchen drain pipe plugged way beyond the trap under the sink. A 10 foot cheapy snake was too short. I hoped that this 35" snake would work. The price was right and it more than paid for itself the first use. This snake would not last long for commercial use, but for a homeowner it is just the ticket. I was able to push the snake by hand most of the way and through a connection using a cordless drill to rotate it to get it aligned and moving forward. The blockage was soft and not solidified grease. The cable is of good quality and would have broken up grease if need be. After opening up the pipe there was a lot of water behind the clog that flushed out the clog. I snaked the pipe further until it hit another connection. Rather than risking a twisted cable I called it good and easily pulled the cable back into the drum. After that I pulled out the cable to rinse it off and let it dry so it will minimize rusting. This snake was designed for 2" pipe maximum. Above that size the cable could twist and get a loop in it, likely trapping it in the pipe. Removing a hopelessly trapped cable is neither cheap nor pretty. Be patient when navigating connections. Take it slow and rotate the drum slowly. My connections only took about 10 seconds to negotiate. Use moderate pressure and let the machine do the work. I was able to get mine delivered next day.

Didn't work for me
It was going fine but after the second turn it had to make it refused to make the turn and started coiling onto itself inside the pipe instead of making the turn. Never even reached the obstruction. I bought this cause i had a 20ft one that i put all the way in and wasnt enough. Using a clean out location so minimal turns. This product went in like 15 ft before it refused to keep going.

Works!
I was skeptical. The item arrived on time and well packaged and my driver was friendly and respectful of my property. It took me a couple of days to get the courage to crawl under the house to fix this stopped-up pipe. Imagine this, the pipe runs from the kitchen sink drain, all the way to the other side of the house which is about 25 or 30 ft. I tried from under the kitchen sink but it would not work that way. So I suited up with all my armor to avoid spiders and went under the house. I found a place where I could take the pipe loose and started running the auger through the pipe. It went about 15 feet and hit something solid. That's when I turned the screw to lock the device and started reeling the auger. Oh my goodness! It works! It reeled until I felt it release, and then I unscrewed the lock and started pushing it further and hit another snag, another stop up. So I locked the device screw and started reeling again. At this point, I decided to back it up to see if it would pull anything out. 😳 THINGS STARTED SPEWING OUT OF THAT PIPE! I was not ready for the crazy amount of stuff that spewed out of that pipe in my face and all over me! Y'all be prepared! I was not. Next time, I will be wearing a face mask and goggles. Big chunks of cold hard grease, aquarium gravel, and many other things were unrecognizably spewing out of that pipe, with a stank that I have never and never want to smell again. But hey the device works! I did not have to call a plumber and I got a really good price on this auger! Thank you, Amazon!

The extra length made the difference!
I have owned and used a 25 foot drain snake for a number of years and have used it for the shower drains and for clearing the kitchen drain. This time, I ran the entire 25 feet into the kitchen drain and it didn't clear. I found this 35 foot snake and hoped that the extra 10 feet would do the trick. It took the whole 35 feet but at the very end, the clog cleared and the sink drained. An added bonus is the extra flexible springy tip that seemed to make it easier to feed the snake through the trap under the sink. It was very satisfying.

Love hate with this thing
Usually I either review a product with 5 stars, or one star. There's almost never a middle-of-the-road review from me. But here's my reasons.1. Yes, it did eventually clear my kitchen skink drain. It took several tries tho, and each time I worked on it for 2hrs. Back and forth thru the drain pipe, over and over again. That could just be the severity of my clog, or user error tho.2. I got the drill adapter, which helped really get the snake wiggling, but it neither advanced, or retracted the snake like I thought it would. I had to manually push it down the drain, as well as push it back into the plastic housing when finished. Pretty hands on of a job, yuk. Seems very cheaply made in that respect.3. After the first use, it's already gross and rusty, and I had a very hard time pulling it out and coiling it back in because of that. I feel like there should be a way of cleaning this thing, and protecting it from rust, otherwise it's basically a one time use snake and I can throw it away now. I'll have to look into a way of easily doing that, hopefully without having a 35ft snake in my bathtub, trying to wash it up. Again, gross.Overall, it did the job, and I'll *maybe have it to use if the drain backs up again. It's a constant issue because the pvc doesn't have enough drop to properly empty. Just no what you're getting, and be ready for a tough/gross job if you buy this one.

Very good product
The unit is well made and strong. It works well and easily inplugged my sink. I have the 35 ft one and it extended beyond my house to break up a a large blockage. I’m quite please with it since it also saved me an expensive plumber call. Highly recommended.

Auger seemed to do job
Auger seemed to work okay, gave it 4 stars because it twisted and kinked in several spots in pipe from turning, had to reverse turns and it was stuck in pipe. Could be a better guage cable

False advertising. Actual length is 32ft, not 35 ft. Much shorter than advertised.
