Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox for Women - Transparent , 1 oz Primer

I've been using this primer for a few years, it's one of only two primers I've found that doesn't either cause breakouts, or wad up into little balls of 'gunk' when applying, or make no difference whatsoever....and I've tried a lot of primers. The other one I like is about twice the price of this, and I would actually pick this as my number one anyway. You can feel the difference in how your makeup goes on when you use this....it really does create a perfect canvas for foundation, (liquid/powder/cream) concealer, eye shadow, pressed powder, bronzer, blush, or anything else you can think of. It's easy to apply, goes on very silky, no obnoxious odor, it's colorless, and it does not cause me to break out. You do need to wash it off before bed, but it comes off easily with ordinary soap & water, or your regular cleanser/makeup remover. Highly recommend this primer! A little goes a long way, so even though it seems a little pricey, it lasts for months and it's worth the money.

I had seen a makeup video on youtube and really wanted to try this Primer out. It feels odd when applying it but a little seems to go a long way. You can really feel it cover your skin very well. I dont use make up very much, more so on the nights I go out. I have fairly clear healthy skin and I like to keep as much (chemical wise) off of my skin unless its needed. Ive used it about 4 times in a three week period and ive liked the results. It appears it helps to give foundation a smoother appearance compared to other brands I have bought from regular stores in my area. I also bought an air brush foundation but it seemed no matter what I did, that it didnt work as great as how it was show in the youtube video. So I used it with liquid foundation I have used in the past, bought from the store and it looked great, made my skin look flawless.I do love this product only thing that is an issue for me is texture. Feels kind of like a smoother Vaseline to my fingers but once its applied and done on my face it doesnt bother me at that point. This is one of those things that feels really odd to the touch, but dont hold that against this product it really is a great primer. I had bought two in my order before even trying it, and very glad I did.

This is by far my favorite primer. I have first tried a sample of it at Sephora and fell in love with it instantly. I have a combination skin and this guy helps normalize it . It is very light, feels like I have no primer on my skin and it really makes the foundation stay on all day long. As a matter of fact it dries rather fast which makes the foundation go on not as smooth so I never wait too long between applying primer and foundation however if I did I would probably end up using less foundation. One way or another it's fantastic and it lasts months with a daily use.

I love it goes on smoothly m, makes my liquid makeup cover better and never leaves a sticky residue or feeling. Great product.

I've used primers by Nars and Laura Mercier in the past, and was pretty happy. They definitely helped my concealer stay put, and Laura Mercier gave me a little glow. But I kept hearing about Smashbox's primer, and as I've been trying to move more toward cruelty-free products (Smashbox/Estee Lauder is cruelty free as of 2017), decided to give it a try. OMG, I HAD NO IDEA BEFORE WHAT A PRIMER COULD DO. See, in the past, if I happened to forget my primer step, I wouldn't really notice a difference in application/texture, just longevity. Now, if I inadvertently skip my Photo Finish primer, I see IMMEDIATELY that my concealer is wearing differently (I use Tarte Shape Tape applied with a damp beauty blender). It will look dryer, more settled into my fine lines, and overall just more makeup-y. I'll actually clean it off and reapply with my primer! Smashbox's Photo Finish primer makes my skin smooth and baby soft to the touch, and makes my concealer look like my natural skin, just with better complexion.

I'd been using DHC Velvet Skin Coat, and when I ran out, I decided to give a few other brands a try. High on my list was the Smashbox primer since I've heard many good things about it from friends and online reviews. So far, I'm pretty happy with the Smashbox product, but I don't feel there's a huge difference between it and other brands.Compared to my usual DHC brand, both products go on smoothly and help hide pores and imperfections, either alone or when used under your favorite makeup. For some reason, I find the DHC product comes out of the tube thicker but spreads thinner and more smoothly, so I generally end up using less to get the same effect. The Smashbox product is a little watery by comparison, and it seems to absorb into my skin, so I tend to use a bit more. I'd say both are about equal when used under makeup, but I prefer the DHC product if I'm going without...it leaves my face velvety and a bit smoother looking than what I get with the Smashbox product.Otherwise, I liked the Smashbox primer and might try it again. It seems friendly to my skin, has no fragrance and works well with all the other makeup products I use. Definitely worth a try.

…I love this product! I’m 70 years old and skeptical by nature when it comes to product reviews. But this primer is wonderful! I had never used a primer before. It’s clear and feels very silky. I have a few enlarged pores on my nose, and this primer fills them in so that when I apply my foundation you can’t see them. I use tinted moisturizer instead of a full-coverage foundation, and I think I actually use less product because the primer provides such a smooth surface. So glad I took a chance on this product!

I wish this wasn't so expensive because it's the best primer I've ever used.I've gotten so many primer samples from Itsy...so the more high end... and most of them suck. This stuff just rocks.
