Unbeatable in the right scenario and have realistic expectations
I struggled with giving this 5 stars, but it deserves it. For what its intended use is, this device is unbeatable. There are other headphone amps, but as far as I know, none of them have built-in (receive only) Bluetooth and many of them have no way to get audio into them from any other source than your guitar. You don't have to use the app to get the audio into this device either. You can connect the Bluetooth and play audio from your device and play audio from whatever source you'd like. You don't have to use the included free app to do it. If you want, you can just play YouTube videos on your device, and the audio will come into your headphones along with your guitar. There is also an Aux-in, so you could also connect a 3.5mm TRS cable into it, and get input audio from any source you'd like.As you should expect with anything Boss makes, the amps and effects in this device are very, very good. It's not as good as my fractal, but I wouldn't hesitate to gig this in a pinch. This will end up in my gig bag as a backup. With a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter, I can plug this straight into the mixing board, and it will be a suitable emergency backup. The way you control those effects, volumes, and gains on the device is pretty obvious. They have simplified controls, with 3 real knobs that you can turn the effect up or down with. If you want more control than that, the app gives you full control over everything. The YouTube interface is questionable. The thing that worries me most is that YouTube isn't owned by Boss. Boss is integrating a third-party service into this product, and there's absolutely no guarantee that YouTube will continue to work with the Boss app forever. It won't surprise me if, in the future, it simply refuses to work with YouTube at all. Many other reviewers complain about videos being unavailable. This was also my experience. I had no problem adding Tim Peirce videos to it or any of the other guitar lesson videos that I tried, but adding anything that was an actual song resulted in the 'video unavailable' notice. However, you can use your own MP3 files with this device, so if you'd like to play along with a full song you just have to get the MP3, put it on your device, and add it to the app. That being said, you can't add videos from any source other than YouTube. For longevity purposes, I'd prefer it if I could find copies of videos and keep them on my device without needing to be online or tied to YouTube in any way. Boss could add the ability to include videos from the device itself, but I doubt we'll see many updates on this device in the future.I did have issues connecting the Bluetooth. I have several Android devices. One of those devices is an incredibly inexpensive tablet. On that tablet, it would never recognize the device's MIDI controller no matter what I tried. Eventually, I gave up and used my more expensive Lenovo Yoga tablet, and that connected, however, I had to try several times. Once it connected, I had no problems connecting subsequently.I am slightly disappointed the device isn't USB-C. It's not that big of a deal, but nearly everything these days is USB-C. It does come with a charging cable, but no power brick. Also, the battery is inside and not accessible without removing screws. It may, or may not be replaceable. Over time, I know without a shadow of a doubt that the battery will fail. The short version of this review is that if you want a device that helps you learn from watching YouTube teaching videos, you're somewhat tech-savvy, and you have realistic expectations about how that will work, this is an excellent option. If you want a reasonably priced great-sounding headphone amplifier with built-in effects, this is an excellent option. If you want a backup amp for your gig bag, this is also an excellent option.*update 6/27/2025*I continue to use this headphone app regularly, but have effectively concluded the youtube integration is hopelessly broken and will never actually work as advertised. That being said, I have found a suitable replacement, which is VLC. VLC has all of the same functionality that the youtube feature had, except it can also play local files. It's available for both Android and iPhone. There is a bit of a learning curve, but you can add location markers to videos, use an A->B repeat on those videos, and slow them down. When paired with this headphone amp, it's a very good learning tool.

Lotta Connectivity Issues and App sucks
I had a lot of issues getting it to connect to the app and stay connected, it was a nightmare, I ended up sending it back. The sounds are ok, nothing special, bit thin sounding, and unfortunately you need to use the app if you want to tweak the settings properly. Good concept, meh application.

Great practice tool.
This pocket gt is awesome. The sound quality is amazing through the head phones. Wish I had this years ago. Makes practicing more enjoyable. There are many tone option via Bluetooth or through the computer. Really like the YouTube option how you can control video speed and store previous sights you want to practice with. Would definitely recommend this.
