Put some water and soak it then try to dig it. Also depend on the power of the tool. Couple of time almost twist my hand due to getting stuck and then start. Also try using an impact rotary tool if you can. **Q: What should be the drill power to use this 16x3.2 ? My 20V matrix Black&Decker is not taking any spin.** A: I use a corded drill for this auger instead of my battery drill since the corded ones won't run out of juice like the battery powered drills. The corded ones also seem to be a bit more powerful. I use a craftmans 120v corded drill that has the hammer setting. **Q: How taxing is this auger on your drill? If the ground is medium-hard, can a basic 18v drill handle this without burning out the motor?** A: I used a half inch drill with an auxiliary handle and it was just fine even for dry Earth.
