Brambly Hedge: Classic Collection [DVD]

As a longtime fan of the books I watched the film with trepidation but I couldn’t have been more delighted. The film exactly captured the spirit of the books. The visual and voices were just right. My grandson is 2 and though he would probably enjoy watching the mice I think the story is a bit complex for that age and more suited to a slightly older age. I loved it!

Brought me right back to my youth watching these on TV. I just loved them. We had bought the Brambly Hedge Treasury prior to the DVD so my little girl was well aware of the stories. She loves watching it.The DVD and storylines are very close to the books so it's great to read and watch them.Wish there was more like this available.

I bought all these stories for my daughter when she was a little girl and she loved them. Her books were passed down to her daughter as were the ones I bought for my niece to her daughter too. Now my nephew has a daughter I’ve just purchased this 40th Anniversary book with CD for my great niece to read and keep too. These books are a beautiful read, every child and adult should read them,....

This is one of the most adorable stop motion kids TV shows I've ever seen. I discovered it when I was a child myself but probably too old for them really, but was captivated and if I feel like I need a bit of cheering up I watch an episode even now that I'm in my twenties. I adore the Brambly Hedge books, too. So brilliant and highly recommended. I purchased the DVDs to replace old videos I had so was happy to discover them here on Amazon.

This is British stop-frame animation at its best--gentle, child friendly stories that appeal to adults too. The lovingly-designed sets bring the original books wonderfully to life. How I wish we could turn back the clock and have more series like this one! The golden days of The Wombles, Kipper, Wind in the Willows and Brambly Hedge when children's TV was made for children and humour did not mean "sarcasm." There is no "lesson" underlined in the stories, no admonitory finger-shaking on the part of the adult characters, just beautifully made animations. The only drawback is that the disc is so short. I wish we could have the entire collection.

Bought to replace the original vhs which my children watched many times. I still have the original story books so it’s a nostalgia trip too.

Kids cannot get enough of this. Quality is timeless they say and it seems to be true here. One would have wondered if they would struggle with the slow pace of the storyline and lack of "action" compared to today's stuff. But no, they are captivated by these creations and they watch the DVD over and over again.
