Hoya 55 mm Filter Kit II Digital for Lens

This kit comes with three filters (UV, circular-polariser, NDx8), you would never use UV filter, so to be honest, you are paying for two filters. However, both NDx8 and circ-pol filters are of very good quality. I did not observe any colour cast or artefacts on my images when I use them. Filters look of good quality and screw-on nicely on my Nikon D3300 standard kit lens and telephoto lens. Pros: > The NDx8 is really useful and works nice to bring silky-water effects > circ-pol works great and brings out rich blue sky with contrast clouds > UV filter is not actually needed but I use it as a lens cap for my lost Nikon-front-cap ;-) Cons: > The case is a turn off (see attached picture), I wish they had single, plastic case for each filter. The provided case is like a wallet and doesn't really protect them from dust. Who wants to buy a case separately? Grrrr > Just a trivial reminder, you can only use one filter at a time. Do you really need them? > yes, you can't do any landscape photography without these filters. Once you use them, you can clearly see they make images much more impressive. If you want just one filter at a time, circular filters are good. > but... the problem with these screw-on circular filters is that you can put on only one filter at a time in front of your lens, you can't use them in combinations. If you can spend slightly more, go for square/rectangular filters (Cokin P series, to start with, they produce decent results and are not very pricey), square filters slide into a rectangular filter holder (up to 3 can be used together). Overall, very good filters at this price range. Good for beginner photographers to understand the concept/usage of filters. Tip: Just remember to buy according to the size of your lens front diameter.

An excellent set of the three most important filters that a photographer needs. The 3 filters come in a handy pouch and screw into the lens. The UV filter is a must and helps to protect the lens; it also filters out UV light making skies more realistically blue. The circular polarising filter is adjustable (by rotating it) and reduces glare and other unwanted reflections. I haven't used the neutral density filter yet, but it is a handy 'mid-way' filter that cuts out some, but not most, of the light (ideal for reducing light in very bright conditions so that a smaller aperture can be used, thus decreasing depth of field). I am delighted with this package and highly recommend it to beginners and enthusiasts.

Excellent quality filter for those photographers looking to add that blur motion to their shots. I have bought the Hoya 49mm Pro ND 1000 filter. It is just great for my Sony a7 camera and Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 lens. Hoya produces the best value for money ND filters. The ND 1000 is the darkest neutral density filter for 49 mm filter thread. It's ideal for long exposure shooting. Like in the case of creating light rays from car lamps during night. Or vanishing people and cars from photos during daylight by using 30 seconds long exposure.

Great value filters ,I’m only an occasional photographer holidays mainly and they are fine for my needs obviously if you’re a serious photographer they’re probably basic , but for me they’re great .

For the price you just can't go wrong! Great value.

Partner wanted this for Xmas so I bought it him. He has a professional setup and is a photographer. Still raves on now about it so must be good.

While they work as a decent entry point for new photographers like myself, they aren’t great quality. You’re better off spending more and getting better quality filters from Hoya, cause these aren’t too great. The cpl is okay, but I feel the £20 version is much better, while the 8x ND filter is nowhere near as useful as a variable filter. UV filter does the trick nicely but they’re pretty useless unless you’re looking for protection in my opinion. The carry case is pretty neat though. Oh and the booklet can be confusing and isn’t a great help, but it’s a nice gesture. You’re better off buying two £20 filters than this pack.

I’m a newbie to DSLR photography and I really like this bundle. I wanted to learn how to get better quality photos with more color and less unwanted reflections. The CP filter has been great and I’m learning how to use the others.
