DIY Grommet Setter for #12 Easy-Set Metal Grommets Only

I looked all over for a way to add metal grommets to jacquard lined curtain panels. Once I found them online, I was not sure how I’d add them, so was glad when this tool came up as suggested to buy. I was also pleased that the vendor had reached out to me via Amazon to be sure I had ordered this with my grommets purchase. This is a must in order to secure them. The pictured instructions were great. It only took some measuring and pounding with a rubber mallet. All was complete within about an hour. So pleased with how great this turned out!

This set is completely worthless to set grommets! It never worked to clamp the grommet closed to the opposite side. On the second grommet the plastic rim broke off all the way around from the hammering and still did not seal the grommet together! I threw it in the trash and obviously don’t recommend!

This setter is very simple, inexpensive, and easy to use. I set about 3 dozen grommets with it on my project, and it is holding up well. Will have to replace eventually, but i will have gotten my money’s wirth out of it. Shipping was rocket-fast! Thanks for the great product and great service!

Not compatible with Amazon recommendation. Bought this and the grommets. I had to manually hammer the grommets together. Maybe it will work with the grommet company the specific tool comes from.

This grommet setter works well. I had never used one before and there were no instructions (instructions certainly would have helped) but I figured it out since there seemed only one way to use it. I set 24 grommets and they look very nice and the grommets are set very securely. It seems to be made of very durable material and should last through twelve more panels that I will be sewing. Gave it a four-star rating due to no instructions and the bottom unit not being very secure.

I bought this Grommet Setter after reading all of the reviews and found it to be so easy to use. I had never put grommets in curtains before, but after watching a video and buying the grommet setter and the correct grommets for the setter, I was able to put the grommets in the curtains in a short amount of time. I purchased some of their grommets as well as their Tool for the grommet. Wasn't expecting much but thought I'd give it a try being I don't have a press.I purchased some moving blankets that I wanted to hang-up for sound/acoustic deadening. Needed to install grommets and this tool worked rather well. Even though I'm pretty mechanically inclined, I thought I would mess-up something badly being inexperienced in the tailoring world (even though I forgot the backside grommet on one).All grommets pressed together with this tool using a rubber mallet and it was quick in the process. Did about 6 curtains which equaled about 36-40 grommets and it's still good enough to use on many more. Great CHEAP alternative to get the job done right.

Update:I returned this item because it did not work for what I bought it for. Crazy thing is that I would’ve never even known it existed but it was in the section with “frequently purchased with” on the grommets I was buying. But after I returned it, i got a very condescending note from the seller. So, my original review still stands that the grommet setter is awful and so is their customer service!This grommet setter is awful. It gets stuck and you have to pry it off your grommet because you have to hammer it so hard to get it to work. It’s plastic. So hammering eventually cracked it. Then half the time it didn’t even work. It ruined six of my grommets. Totally not worth the money.
