Milescraft 5342 6pc. Drill Stop Set - Includes 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2-Inch

I used this to assemble a multi section Toyota transfer case per Marlin Crawlers recommendation. This stuff worked really great, and I'm not sure how I've survived so long without it. It held the paper gaskets perfectly in place during assembly so I didn't misalign a single bolt hole. Especially useful for the rear transmission seal since I didn't drop the transmission to do the job. This is so cheap compared to the whole job, it is just a must have for any gasket work. I wish I had this when I did the water pump, but I will use it next time! So far my Transfer case has no leaks. I was concerned about excess build up inside the case that could clog oil orifices, but I think this stuff will either stick where it's put or disperse harmlessly in the oil. Really excellent product.

Great product for the price. Some people have complained about stripping out the set screws. I don’t know what they are doing wrong, but I have had know issues with this.

It is a good quality product. For dowel use

You need to tighten these against the flat spots of the drill bit, not into the groove of the drill bit. That makes it a little tricky when trying to get them to tighten at a specific height but overall, these work great and did exactly what I needed them to do!

These are aluminum with steel screws. All seem to work as advertised. I would not expect them to stay put under a lot of force but just serve to indicate when to stop drilling. I just wish that the set included a 1/8 inch size. For the money, this is a good set.

As you've noticed, these stop collars are a few bucks more than some of the other options, but after using them, I can see why. The collars fit precisely and lock up tightly, but the best part is the collars are beefier and taller than others so they are truer to the spinning drill bit and stay locked in place. Great product!!

In order to utilize, I had to take a round file to deburr the inner side of the set screw hole. When manufactured there was enough metal to prevent from fitting properly on the bit. With that rectified, it works as expected. At $15 I wouldn't expect the need to do what I did.

No seems to make drill stops that work all that well if they have to be locked down on the flutes, but these are far better than most. When on the shank of the drill bit they work very well and can be locked down tightly so they don't slip. These are well made. My old set that I finally tossed out in disgust had threads that stripped out if you tightened down hard enough to lock the ring to the bit. These are more robust. Good stuff!

Están bien para la relación precio-calidad, son baratas, por eso compré dos sets por si se llega a barrer una. La he usado con brocas para madera y jala bien, ya que no se forza mucho la broca. La use también con una broca de concreto para hacer un pequeño hoyo pequeño para un taquete, no sé si ya con brocas más grandes por la vibración se barra o se suelte. Yo la recomiendo más para agujeros pequeños.

I wish these had been supplied with the Milescraft dowelling jig. However, since they did not, I had to get these. They are quite essential. They work well. I did notice that the set-screw is larger than one I had been loaned by a friend of mine, which was most likely from a knock-off brand, as it seems cheaply made (I cannot verify this tho). These collars do slide on the appropriate drill bits with little to no play in them, and once the set-screw is tightened, it doesn't move at all. I am pleased with this purchase, with one exception. It is a very minor detail, but it would have been even better, had each collar been stamped with the size it goes with. That way, when I'm looking for a specific collar size, it's not all guess-work and I could save myself some time. I might find a way to engrave some kind of marker myself... we'll see.

A great concept and a well made product . Prevents over drilling and makes it visually easier to keep the drill bits perpendicular while drilling . .
