Three Colors: Blue, White, Red (The Criterion Collection) [4K UHD]

Movies themselves are wonderful, but be careful if you order this Criterion 4k trilogy. I ended up returning both the original and the replacement because both of them had 2/3 of the 4k discs scratched up, and one of them had a 4k disc loose in the case and scratched even more. There’s some kind of problem either happening at the factory or with the design of the case itself.

This is not opinion of edition (in case of Criterion, of course, of high quality) but of films. These are probably the worst theatrical films of this most overestimated Polish filmmmaker and one of the most pretentious in the world. Only living in Poland (or, at least, in Europe) during communist era (as I, unfortunately, did), you could feel or recognize the falseness pretentiousness and artificiality of Kieślowski's works. I don't understand how can he be so highly valued by critics of the world or compared (it's really a shame) to Bergman or Antonioni.

Very beautiful transfer. Better than european release (France). Beautiful grain. Movies are in 4K HDR Dolby Vision. The boxes could be plastic. The cardboard is easy to destroy. That is the only minus of the release.

This is my favorite film trilogy of all time, and this is a lovely boxed set. I can’t wait to watch them in 4K.
