100 Classical Themes for Violin Paperback – January 1, 1992

This offers a nice selection. There are several I'm familiar with and many I will have to look up. This provides a good starting point with plenty of room for growth. If you (or your child) is still a beginner, be aware that you may need to spend some time looking through it to find what themes are appropriate to start practicing now, which will be soon, and which are quite some time away. I'm very happy with this book.

I bought this for my sister who plays the violin. I do not know much of music, but from what she has told me, the music pieces are easy to read and play (she is an advanced violinist). It is a song book, reading music is a must. Song selection is its winning feature. Some of the best songs for violin are in this book.

There's plenty of music to play, but I've been rather disappointed with it. I, personally, would not recommend this book to a friend. I found the arrangements lacking and very unsatisfying. For some pieces, the most "enjoyable" part of the music is missing. I really just don't think the sheet music was written very well in this book. That may just be my opinion, but this is one book that will be collecting dust on my shelf. There are much better books out there than this one.

Good value for money

As a musician beginning to practice and trying to regain skills that have been neglected for many years, a collection of music which includes some easy selections and some more challenging is good for practice.

Excellent book, for beginners. It has all the "easy" bits of classical music, giving you the oppotunity to start easy, and later on move on to the next levels.

I like the songs chosen and glad that I can play most of the songs.

Nice pieces, not too hard and not too easy

Definitely worth buying if you would like to play some famous classical pieces without the difficulties of playing the actual original versions! For me (an amateur) it works great for a change and some fun rather than the pieces I have to play for learning purposes.

Haven’t used this book yet but looks like it is going to be good book for getting my son back into enjoying violin

This has many pieces that are absolutely lovely to play. This is perfect for grades 2-4 and it has helped me improve lots more while enjoying them
