Very soft and comfortable and stylish, too! The Olive color is a great neutral tone that matches all outfits, both sundresses and casual shorts/tees on the beach. This was the perfect purchase. It provides excellent coverage and the velcro closure easily adjusts to any size head. The fabric is a nice linen-looking covering and the band is soft and padded. I removed the bow with a few scissor stitches. Unlike most people, I put my hair OVER the visor because it fits me better that way and it doesn't squish my hair. If you wear it this way, I would advise skipping the sunscreen on your forehead as it will rub off on the band. Having said that, you don't need sunscreen on your forehead with this visor because of its excellent coverage.
