Conceptual Physics 12th Edition

I’m a college student who’s experienced several variations of book qualities over time. This one in content, style, readability, etc. is among the best. Perfect for those getting their feet wet in Physics with little or no previous idea. Useable as a reference, or reading for fun if your curious how things work like me. Good enough I bought the book; I have another rented one for class. I really am enjoying it, and I’m neither engineer nor physicist. Just a very inquisitive person.

Almost finished reading this book with my eleven year old middle schooler over the last year and a half. It is highly readable and easy to follow.Each section within the chapter is followed by a ‘check point’ which tests knowledge and comprehension of the material presented. The text also has QR codes to videos online with mini lectures and experiments.Each chapter also has on average of a hundred questions at the end to test your knowledge. The book only gives answers to half of them though.

Needed this textbook for my physics class. I liked how the tb explained stuff and the examples it gave, it was pretty simple and easy to understand. It's a used hardcover textbook but came in good condition, light writing already in it. Rented it and know the return process will be easy.

Book is perfect except for those minors dents around, some pages are written on and has some wrinkles from water.Thank you .

If you want to learn about physics, this is the book for you. It's all here, in plain English. Starts off pretty simple, and you might think you already know it. Trust me, review the material in the terms in which it's presented. Later on, when you get to more complex subjects like magnetism, you'll be glad you took the time to study simple acceleration.The cartoonish illustrations are quite helpful and the photo examples featuring friends, family, students, and luminaries of the field are quite endearing. So not only does this book cover a lot of ground, it has a personal touch that makes the material quite approachable.Have fun.

For the most part, a decent introductory book for those trying to avoid math as much as possible. For me, though, the math would have been easier than some of the lengthy explanations they gave for some concepts (like gravity and rotational movement); I even went so far as to research the mathematical explanations for some things in order to understand the purely verbal explanations in the book. Also, while the QR codes worked well for a while, I was mysteriously locked out after a while and received no response from the website (the best way around this, I found, is that somebody has most of the videos that are linked by QR codes on a YouTube page by searching the author).

This is the Global Edition. I know it says so in the title, but for some reason - it was not obvious to me when I ordered it. My professor let me use it, because it is really REALLY similar to the 12th edition. If he says turn to page 100, add 26 pages - at page 126 will be there right area where he is at on page 100. Hope that makes sense. This is a good book. I am not remotely intelligent when it comes to physics, but this book does a good job of explaining it in everyday language.

This is an excellent practical text on basic physics with high emphasis on concepts but low emphasis on mathematics. More difficult subjects like magnetism, thermodynamics and light are explained with clarity and a large number of practical tidbits of information can be found in the side columns that are also fun to read. It would be a good textbook for high school students or entry level college. It is a bit expensive but I think the price is still worth it.
