New BalanceMen's 481 V3 Trail Running Shoe

This running/walking shoe is so awesome!!! New Balance know exactly what they're doing when designing a shoe. Mine came in the mail last week and could not wait to try them on. I wear a size 12 but I have a narrow heel. I ordered the 12 Wide instead. Yes, it was a little loose around my foot but I wear extra socks anyway. I purchased some Dr, Scholl's inserts and they made all the difference in the world! They are comfortable and feel great walking around the house. Even early this morning I purchased another pair with different colors. I plan on doing the HAP Crim race in my hometown of Flint in a couple of weeks. Both shoes will be worn throughout the weekend event. I have been a fan of New Balance for decades and have never been let down when it comes to quality.

I have a partially torn Achilles tendon on my right foot. I decided to not have surgery - the recovery process would have been too activity restricted, so instead I opted for physical therapy with a great therapist. I had been looking for shoes that would offer me greater ankle stability than normal athlecit shoes could, and in the listing copy these sounded just about right.I can wear 12-1/2 wides, but as that size wasn't available I went with 13 Ds. They fit very well when I first put them on, including a properly sized toebox. When I took my first steps I was surprised at how heavily cushioned they felt, but as I continued to wear them I became more accustomed to a cushioned heel with adequate arch support. I have a very high instep and usually can't use the uppermost eyelets for laces, but with these shoes I had adequate lace length to go through them, and they provided me with extra stability as well.Four Stars because I'm still "breaking them in," but so far, very good. Another very good pair from NB, and I expect my enthusiasm for them to continue to grow over time. Of course your mileage may vary, but for me, they are Just What I Needed.

This is my fifth purchase of NB trail shoes of one model, or another. I've put them to hard use on trails and off and they've yet to let me down. I haven't had any issues with sole separation, or with the uppers failing, even when covering really rough terrain. Fit is an extremely individual experience. I need wide shoes and NB wide means wide. They are very comfortable on the foot and stay that way. I haven't experienced the uppers stretching out of shape with foot support always very good. I can only hope they perform as well for any other who may purchase them. I have not ever been disappointed.

I have ordered this model New balance 10 times and work the heck out of them, I really like this shoe.When I went to order it recently my size was out of stock and have checked back for several weeks.I finally called New Balance today to see if it had been retired and the answer was Yes.Sad day today, this shoe was really great and fit my lifestyle perfectly.Good bye old friend.

No problem with the shoes, but Amazon makes it hard to complain. The UPS driver put the package on the ground at my mailbox. Out of my sight, but says they put it in my mailbox. This has been twice. They used to put it on my deck. Someone could steal it.

They are comfortable and cool and fit like a wide should. I also find that they work well with my ankle brace and my heel lift.

Haven’t worn enough to know if there are anything I don’t like about it…But from the time I had worn it, great fit. Not too tight or loose at the toes, nice and snug.And I’ve worn some 4E’s that were a bit too wide for my toes, and 2E’a that were a bit too tight.
