Not the soft Yak leather like the Biom line (I have a first gen pair of Bioms) but certainly above average. Two reasons they get four and not five stars - the strip of material where the lace holes sit - referring specifically to the area it goes horizontal below the laces, somewhat dug into the top of my foot when walking. I almost packaged them back up and returned them - I decided to roll the dice, figuring good quality shoes will break in plus I really liked the look. At the end of my round it was no longer an issue. I felt a little pressure there but nothing that would distract me or cause discomfort. The second being the heel seems sits a little lower than my bioms. Took a little getting used to and I would prefer the heel slightly higher for truly perfect fit...but not an issue so big I regret my purchase. Overall very good shoe and very sharp looking.UPDATE: Have worn them for 6 or 7 rounds since I purchased and upgraded to five stars. They broke in great and I really have no complaints. So I ordered a size 45 and they are okay. I have worn then twice while walking 18 and they are as comfortable as any of my other size 46 golf shoes.
