Perfect, small USB-C CAC reader
I just purchased this for use with a new MacBook Pro with USB-C, with a DOD Common Access Card (CAC) on macOS 10.12 Sierra (with Thursby Software's PKard CAC middleware) and Windows 10 (under VMware Fusion, with no additional middleware). It works as expected without issue. Having used the tiny foldable SCM/Identiv SCR3500 reader for the older USB (USB-A) for some time, I was looking for a similar USB-C replacement so I wouldn't have to use a dongle. This works perfectly, and is exactly what I was looking for. the rotating/folding case is also a bit more nicely-designed than the SCR3500, and provides more proper alignment and support for the card when inserted. Very happy with my purchase.

Does what I need it to do
Had one of these previously and it finally gave out after about 5 years. Bought it again and it does what it’s supposed to do. I use it to access DoD sites on my MacBook. Works great and low profile. No messy cables.

Good product.
I like the product, it works well on my Windows PC, but it's not compatible with the Thursby app on the Google play store, which kinda makes it useless for the purpose I bought it for, there's also no alternative app option either.

Does not stay connected.
I've had this device for about 6 months and it has stopped being recognized by my computer, like the male end is too loose for the female end of my computer. It flickers back-and-forth of recognizing it and not recognizing it. My charging cable does not have this issue and stays connected, so I know it isn't the computers fault. Frustrating because I need this for work purposes, and have to delay working while ordering another product.

Surface Pro 11, Snapdragon X Elite (Windows on Arm) compatible
As title mention I was able to login into my military email and use the Azure vertial web browser with it. Only problem is that it blocks other USB C port on my Surface.

Works
Worked first time for my husband’s military cac card. He’s been using it with no issues. The only thing is as with any USB type device you have to be careful not to knock it around because it will bend/break pretty easily if you do.

Partially works on MacBook Air M3
On my 2024 M3 MacBook Air, my CAC is only recognized for a few minutes using this reader. If logging onto other CAC-enabled sites/servers, I would have to remove the CAC from this reader and put it back in for it to work. It gets annoying when signing onto a virtual machine that requires multiple authentications. Instead, I bought the Identiv reader and that reader is working flawlessly so I know for sure that the issue is not with my Mac.With my iPad Air (5th gen), though, this reader works no problem.Made in Hong Kong (China).
