Does anyone use this to prevent their ratties from chewing the edges of the fleece liners?

No, it actually wouldn't really work that way. When I had the scatterguards attached, it was very difficult to secure the fleece liners to begin with (the scatter guards are not easy to take on/off, and are awkward to use with fleece liners). So you'd have to either not secure the fleece liners at the edges, or put them over the scatter-guard completely. I ended up taking my scatterguards off completely when I switched to fleece. They just make it too difficult to clean the cage and maneuver things.I would suggest putting a little bin full of fleece scraps and papers near where they usually chew the fleece liners. That will give them easier stuff to play in, shred, and put in their favorite nesting spots. :)

Would the busybody blanket work for a chinchilla?

It would work for them as a blanket. The tunnel pieces are designed for a ferret, so i doubt they would be able to fit.

Does the scatter guard work to keep bedding in?

Yes, the scatter guard provides and additional 4" above the pan to help keep the bedding inside the cage.

lower scatter guard - would it work with a litter box attached to the cage. do you think it could be modified in a way that would allow this use?

I’m sure you can make anything to work.. but I have the wear manufacturing scaterless lock and litter pet pen with the wire flooring ( no poop on feet… - My pets are podding trained). And I use fleece ($3.99 yd at Joanne) to line my critter nation trays.
