Is this too young for a 1 year old?

this toy is suitable for 6 months and up. I bought it for my 6 month old grandson and he is still playing with it in his highchair age 1

Do you use this while baby is eating? Or as a distraction so that baby lets you eat?

This is a brilliant aid if your baby is a reluctant eater, my grandson kept turning his head or pushing away a spoon at meal times. Since having this on the tray of his high chair he eats beautifully. He’s so engrossed with the toy he is simply unaware he eating and mealtimes have totally changed. Would definitely recommend, the suction pad is very good too, a rare commodity!

Can anyone give me a clue about how to get this to stick on for longer than one minute? Initially sticks but after a minute just falls over?

twist the yellow 'petals' at the base to lock once you've stuck it down. Do the same in reverse to take it off.

Does this stick to wooden high chair tables?

It depends on the finish of the wood. If you can still feel the grains then this toy will not stick. If it's smooth, then it might be fine, however my little boy can pull it off a plastic tray if he tries hard enough...
