Exo Terra T8 40 w Fluorescent Light Unit

Bought this item so i could use Repti-glo 40w 42" tubes in my tortoise table and vivarium! There's good length to the cables so you can easily split them between 2 vivariums. Come with clips that can be screwed into the vivarium to hold the lights in place. Nothing more to say really. 5* for price and ease of istallation. Do what they're suppose to do

Hard to assemble, stopped working after a monthWith this product, you get 4 endplugs for 2 tubes - however, there is nothing to stop the plugs from widening and it stops working. As well, you get 2 "clamps" to hold the lights up, but they're so flimsy that my light has fallen into the water once.I could write more, but I won't cause I totally don't recommend the product.Recommendation: NO!Update: I returned it, and got another. The 2nd was even more useless than the first, only working for 5mins (honest - I connected it, went "that works ok", left the room, came back in, and it stopped working.)Now I'm returning this and ordering a 3rd. The only saving grace is that there's a 2 year warranty, so let's see how many I can go thru in 2years...

Great product, excellent quality, as you'd expect from Exo Terra. Delivered very quickly. Ideal for a multi level vivarium setup like mine :) My Bearded Dragons are happy...so I'm happy :)

This product is absolute rubbish. I’ve bought 2 of these in the last few months. The first one lasted less than a month. I wrote that off thinking it was probably just a one off dud. The one I replaced it with lasted 3 months perhaps. I’ve read that this is a good buy due to its low cost. My advice is don’t waste your money. It looks like the unreplaceable initiator unit in these are of inferior quality and just blow.

This item is great for a light unit but the description said it has a built-in timer but I can't find it and it doesn't say anything about a timer on the box or the instructions.So if buying for a vivarium you will need a timer as well.

Item stopped working within the first 2 month. Pete pet supplies seem to be dragging his feet for almost a week to fix the problem

Price was a tad expensive but you get what you pay for. I have to and they seem to run a bit hot but they haven't failed me yet. Very pleased

Have a couple of them love them! Our only problem with this is that both have to be hooked up to work. We wanted to put on one cage while we were building other and wouldn't work until other light hooked up too but have both now works great flexible with enclosure!

I'm using this controller for two 40 gallon breeder tanks. I have 2 - 2' UVB lights hooks up to the controller with 1 bulb hanging over the back of each tank. I have it hooked up to a timer. It works very well, enabling me to have 2 tanks side-by-side with less wires.update 12/16/2014: I have been using this for 3.5 years straight now and it is still working perfectly. I have used it with Reptisun 10.0 bulbs the majority of the time and just recently using it with arcadia bulbs.
