Wonderful outdoor plug - great for outdoor decorations
We know have six of these Kasa outdoor plugs that are used mostly for outdoor decorations and we could not be happier with them. They have held up over multiple seasons worth of weather - no failures or issues at all thus far. They are dead simple to use and the app is very useful. Setting schedules is a breeze which works great for decorations. I set these up across our house, rename/label the plugs as needed, and set up schedules. After that I don't have to think about it at all which is what I want. Manual on/off is handy for testing and for using something quickly without needed to remove the plug.

Works perfect
Great smart plug. I use it for my Christmas decorations and have created a schedule. It turns on and off automatically and I don’t have to worry about shutting anything off. I bought two, because I keep on adding more and more decorations 🫢 I haven’t had any problems or issues with connectivity, once you connect with your network, it works great. It is easy to use, and there are instructions on how to connect with your phone and internet. You can set a schedule as I mentioned above, and you can enjoy your Christmas decorations or whatever you are using it for without having to constantly worry whether it’s on or off. It is very convenient, I’ve used it for 2 years, and just last year I bought another one. I connect several lights that I use in one outlet, but try not to overload it much.

Works great with Alexa
I needed a double outdoor smart plug to operate my deck water fountain and attached lights. I own several Kasa smart plugs for indoor use and have always found them to be reliable and easy to setup. This outdoor plug is no exception. I can have Alexa turn on and off the water fountain and lights independently. During the winter, I replace the lights with a de-icer to keep my water fountain from freezing so that the birds still have water. De-icers are notorious for tripping the GFCI, but so far, not a single trip this winter, even with long stretches of negative temps. I have owned this Kasa smart plug for about eight months now, and I am very happy with my purchase.

Works great for our outdoor holiday lighting and perimeter fence lighting.
This is a great way to control your outdoor lighting remotely and via an app while not having to worry about the weather or getting shocked. We use these for our holiday lights and for the lighting that we have strung along the fence in our backyard. This is easy to connect to the Kasa ecosystem, is small and compact and has lasted us thru two winters so far and is still going strong.

Works great when connected to Apple Home
I product this recently to automate my outdoor lights. This smart plug is Matter compatible, which is why I chose this verses the other Kasa Smart plug with HomeKit support. Works seemlessly with KASA app. Setup was very easy. I also have this device added to Apple Home, setup was easy with that as well. The issue I have with this is it keeps disconnecting from Apple Home randomly. And the only way to recover from this is to remove the device and re-add. Device can still be controlled from the KASA app during this. This is a little bit annoying to keep removing and re-adding to Apple Home where all my automations are.I have reached out to TPlink support for this issue. With a few emails back and forth, it was concluded that I should update to the new firmware for the EP40M device. Not sure about the version# of this new firmware, because I already have v1.0.2. Waiting for a response from the support team on the specifics. Will update here once I hear back. Btw, the TPlink support was very prompt in responding to my issue.

Easy to use, reliable, weather proof!
I have two of these that have held up to Minne-snow-ta winters (-20F and colder) for past two years. I use several Kasa indoor & outdoor smart plugs to turn on/off my Christmas light show controllers. These work great and are easy to setup, use, and firmware updates only take one-click.

Kasa Always Comes Through!
Kasa’s smart home products are among the best in the industry. It is evident that a lot of time and effort is pit in to the design, development and testing of their products, as well as the Kasa app (note: we are using the iOS version of their app). It is utterly offensive when you purchase an amazing product and find that the company has put little-to-no effort in to their app. I'm happy to report that the Kasa developers have not let anyone down in this regard. Each of the Kasa products we own has been reliable and have never once failed us, and we’ve had several outlets in our home for ~12 years now. They are easy to setup and configure. They always (and I mean always!) stay online, and they reconnect after power outages without having to reset everything. They also integrate well with the most common home assistants like Alexa, Google, and IFTTT. Having the ability to group them in to categories and/or rooms allows you to synchronize the behavior of multiple devices. After the initial setup we used the included wire holders and screws (they also provide a wall anchor in each package for stone/concrete) to mount them under the waterproof receptacles in a downward-facing orientation (** Important: you MUST keep the sockets facing down to keep everything waterproof **). We have both of the outlets configured in a “Holiday Lighting” group, along with several other interior Kasa smart outlets. They’re scheduled to go on at sundown and off when we go to bed at night. They behave exactly as expected.Perhaps the only complaint we have has to do with the plug head. It is vertically oriented, which is the normal/expected configuration. However, if your receptacle is horizontally oriented it can be difficult to plug the socket in and close the cover on your [in-use] waterproof receptacle cover. This ended up being a minor issue for us, but we ended up making it work. Only we had to sacrifice access to the second outlet on the receptacle to do so. If Kasa made this with a rotating plug head you could orient it horizontally or vertically and avoid this altogether.
