The pen is made out of quality matte black metal and a firm squishy grip. It takes Jetstream refills, which you can buy cheaply in bulk on desertcart in different colors and points. The pen comes with a 1mm black fill. I switched it out for a .7mm blue fill. Both fills write very smoothly and easily without skipping. The shape of the pen rests very comfortably in your palm and the grip relieves wrist strain from writing. As a student, I find that I no longer have any pain in my hands when using this pen like I had in the past. It looks reallly cool in person, with a blue to black gradient effect on the grip. It weighs a perfect amount for control without burden. I love using this pen in general because the grip feels so nice when you write. It doesn't attract lint or dusst like other gel grips. I have two, one for my purse and one for my backpack. The refills are only about 1 dollar, I bought them in bulk so I don't have to worry about it for a while.
