this little black box got POWER
Alright, let me begin this review by saying i'm not a professional sound guy, just a hobbyist who appreciates good audio. I have this paired with a cheap DAC that is... adequate for my use case (being paired with the AKG K361 cans) and let me tell you, this amp does WONDERS for cleaning up the overall soundstage. I recommend turning the dial up and the switch down to the lowest setting where it mutes that static hiss you otherwise get from turning the music to its loudest, and then smoke a doobie and enjoy. With the headphones being what they are, I wasn't blown away by the sound, but I was startled by it. With the right virtualized HRIR (I recommend Dolby's Headphone DH-1 Studio) i had a few magic moments where i forgot i had the headphones on, and i thought the audio was coming from my speakers! What you think sounds the best will depend on the person though. People who like bass will probably turn the switch up, while people who like treble will probably turn the switch down. That's the beauty of the switch in my opinion, is that it caters to both types of audiences. And the sound should scale with whatever kind of headphone or dac that you have, and since mine are on the lower end of budget anyway and i still see improvements, it can only mean good for the people who have more serious equipment.Overall i have nothing to complain about, and Schiit's customer service is legendary so if i do have any issues down the line, i feel comfortable reaching out to them for help.

Small package delivers punch
Didn’t know what to expect even though I researched and watched multiple reviews of this model online before. I was pleasantly surprised by the power and fidelity of this little box, especially considering I own power amps that are 5 times as large as this. Don’t be too quick to judge this book by its size as I almost did. Really enjoying how it powers my B&W bookshelf speakers.

Solid build quality, easy to use
It does get warm with a DAC, so don't tuck it away where it can't breathe. The gain switch is a very useful inclusion, but it would be nice to have more gradual control over volume with the knob. It's been great for driving HE-X4's, I'm looking forward to driving higher impedance headphones with this.

Amazing upgrade from high-end sound card!
I have Sennheiser HD6XX headphones that I used on a very good PCIe Sound Card with dedicated headphone amp; it's been a good setup. But I got curious and bought the Magni+ and a Modi 3E to go along with it.I've got to say I'm blown away by how good this sounds. My headphones just sort of started living and showing what they can do! Beautiful, effortless sound stage, very good separation of instruments and frequencies, it's an absolute joy to listen to.For the price paid, there's no contest.

Sounds like Schiit.
Paired with a Schiit Modi Plus through Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X headphones.Gain switch is a great feature. My Beyerdynamics are lower impedance and low gain is where it's at. Tons of drive, and really brings the headphones alive unlike anything I've heard through them. I've been able to take the Magni/Modi stack to stores to try other headphones, too. It's amazing how much a simple amp can bring out so many qualities in different cans.Only problem is I see this becoming a rabbit hole.

What Else is There to Know?
I bought this small headphone amp based on multiple glowing YouTube reviews by audio professionals. I connected it to my Aiyima T9 Pro DAC. It does not disappoint! FANTASTIC headphone amplification and sound quality. This unit is not cheaply made, feels very solid and made of high quality materials. Look it up on YouTube if you have any doubts.
